All my local dealers suck so I went out of state to Michigan. I also had a unique trade in (Lifted diesel silverado) Because of that I found a ZL1 on EBAY in a part of the country where my truck would get better value and contacted the dealer directly about the trade in and everything. I drove out (approx 11.5 hours) and drove the ZL1 back. The dealership I went through was awesome and put all the dealers by me to shame so I would definitely do it again. It ended up being about a $7000 difference because of how bad I was being low balled on my trade locally.

Are ZL1's still hard to come by? I would have thought they would be easy to order now that the car is in its third year of production.

I live in Southern California at the moment. I called dealers everywhere in California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Nevada... All over, nobody could find the black fully loaded... One dealer in Eugene Oregon said they could get it in 3 days. BOOSH booked a ticket flew in, drove back down!! I bought my mega cab in Montanna, it's the new body style and they were selling it for the same price as the old body styles with more miles around here!

Resurrecting an old thread....

Bought mine about 250 miles away in Davenport, IA.
It was well worth it for one of the few remaining new 2013 verts in the color I wanted and for a killer price!

Best drive home of my life.

Picked mine up from Auto Nation in Mesa, AZ, last November. They were great to deal with. Paid $3000 under MSRP. I paid $1300 to have it shipped to ND. Had to be carefull choosing a trustworthy trucker but I was sold on this guy when I noticed he was wearing white gloves when he was handling the cars.

I live in Illinois (I know sucks for me!) and was looking for a 2013 ZL1 AGM manual w sun roof. Found one that was GM exec driven in Port Washington Wi. w/5900mi on it, test drove on the way to my step son's graduation in the UP and was hooked! Went back to get it a week later and drove back in the pouring rain! Someone here suggested PTM1 so I did and got 23 MPG on the 100 mile ride home.....

When I got my first ZL1 I flew from eastern Washington State to Chicago Ill. and drove it home 1875 miles, one of the most fun cross country trips I've done. Took my younger brother along as a copilot, yes I let him drive it, something I'll always remember. My 2nd ZL1 came from a little closer, 200 miles. Smiles all the way home both times, for both of us. Thats what they are made for, driving and having fun. Even got stopped by a stater in Montana that just wanted to see it up close, that does not happen to me often.

I bought mine at Tom Henry Chevrolet outside of Pittsburgh and I am from NH. Flew out with my son in law and Sue met me at the airport, took me to the dealership and we did the deal. They took wonderful care of me and my son in law. Then we completely enjoyed the drive home to NH!

Becky is great too! They both deliver or arrange with a local dealer, but the journey is half the fun.

Just as a reference, Macmulkin Chevrolet is one of the largest Corvette dealerships in the US for Corvettes. They have 30+ in the showroom right now. They ship all over the country.

The moral of the story is, you can easily buy from out of state if that is what you want.
