If GM can't get the Z/28's price below(even just below) $70,000 then in my eyes and lots of others, they have failed. I still say it will sticker out at $67,895.00

Say what you want, but over that and it should just be a non-VIN track car... over $70,000 and no one in the general population will ever see one in person.

If it needs to be over $70,000 then they built the wrong car.

With a quota of only 3,000 units. It will rarely be seen. Price won't factor in to that part of the equation.

Use the C7 Vette as an example. There are about 7,000 of them out there now. How many have you seen driving down the road over the past couple of months?

Besides the ones I've sold personally, I've seen two.

Also quite a few Z/28s will end up in collections and only see car shows or exhibits or no light of day, what so ever.

GM has done the market analysis and the pricing will be appropriate for the components involved and low volume of units produced.

Is there a reason you didn't include this part in your quote of me?
I think it says it all... but what do I know as a lowly '69 Z/28 owner wanting to buy a new Z/28.

Maybe I can swing some kind of discount with fbodfather since I took the time to fire up my '69 Z/28 so he could savor the chambered exhaust note at the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix some 10 yrs ago!

Probably the same reason I didn't include the rest of your quote. It wasn't relevant to the next opinion. Just a bit full of ourselves, aren't we?

It doesn't MATTER whether YOU think it's overpriced, underpriced, or priced just right. They'll price it, the dealers WILL gouge, and you'll pay it or not. End of discussion.

There's always a Goldilocks bear family opinion with every Camaro version release.

And there's always someone who's willing to buy it - regardless of price or dealer mark up.

Yes, unfortunately it appears that you are.
I was stating my (as well as 20+ folks from our local Camaro club) opinion that's all. You don't like it fine. Calling me out on something that wasn't there is your problem. We can have a civilized discussion like most here, if you so desire. Personally I have more constructive things to do with my life than argue over opinions with someone who has no interest in hearing others' opinions. Sheesh
Ohh, one more thing: Not all dealers are going to mark it up. If my dealer gets an allotment and I decide to buy, it is mine at MSRP. And I'll post the sales slip so all can see. And I will be driving it some on the streets for others to appreciate as well.

I saw three C7's today on a 23 mile roundtrip. They are selling them faster than they can get them.

It's hard to price something when you are not done with all of the development.

We will release the price shortly.

I'm curious with your statement ".....it would be nice to know if this is the car for me..."

My questions to you:

What is your intention for the car you purchase? Is it to take it on a road course or autocross it?

-- OR - is it do drag race it?

-- OR -- is it to be a daily driver?

If "Yes" to Question 1 - this is possibly the car for you (based on price and affordability)

If "Yes" to questions 2 or 3 - this isn't the car for you -- I'd suggest the ZL1.
BESIDES......I love the baseball bat look!

Your dealer may not price gouge, but I'm sure some dealers will.

Absolutely some will, maybe even more than some. Thing is this dealer really does want the car (if they even get one) to be local and not sold to someone in another state that is willing to pay whatever is asked. They sold one of the special vette models a few years ago at an inflated price they didn't want to turn down, but alas they have never seen the car again. Nor will it ever be a good advertising/talking piece in the local area that the dealer might pick up more sales with.
Plus we have a nice road course nearby that would be a natural fit

Look at the new Vettes....pretty sure a lot, if not all, have dealer mark-up, one was 20K over sticker, if I recall....and those aren't even limited production....

Just sayin', I doubt you'll find any Z/28s without a mark-up...a high mark-up...especially if the first year of them only sees around 1,500 made....

...listen to the man with da bat, just sayin'..... It'll be be north of the ZL1 MSRP as stated, but not by leaps and bounds I predict.
