Your seats have airbags even if it's a convertible... I repeat, your seats have airbags even if it's a convertible.

Bmatth - sorry to hear your problem - but I suspect one of our customer assistance specialists will be on this thread shortly - and they can assist you in getting your seat fixed properly.

Meanwhile - in terms of those who are having lumbar or back problems.....may I make a suggestion?

Most driving school instructors will tell you that most drivers sit back too far as they drive....and it really is true for the most part. When I ask people to try this, most of the time, people tell me that the pain goes away.

Get into your Camaro - put your hands at ten and two on the steering wheel -- and then look at where your shoulder blades are in relation to the seat-back. If they are not pushing against the seat-back, you're sitting back too far and your spine is twisting as you drive.......and that's causing problems because your shoulder blades are not keeping you in one place in the seat.....

The steering wheel also telescopes - so use that feature to set your feet in relation to the pedals first....and THEN adjust your seat and seat-back to ensure your shoulder blades are pressed against the seatback.

It will feel perhaps a bit uncomfortable at first, but trust me - once you learn this, you'll find that your back no longer hurts from long trips.........AND -- you have much more control over the car.

(.....or as I've been known to say to some people in cars that are slumped... "SIT UP - you're not in a Barrca- Lounger! You're driving a speeding automobile!...")

Search me? I was about to ask the same thing, if my SS/RS has one I've yet to use it.

This looks great... How difficult is this to install? Did you do it yourself? I don't even know what kind of business to take it to if it's not a DIY... Thanks!

The first time I looked at the lumbar and upper back support in our cars, I was horrified at the extreme lack of quality.
Yeah it really is just chicken wire and styrofoam back there. I'm interested in that after-market lumbar support but am curious as to what the install entails

Interesting point. I've attended a few High-Performance Driving Schools and was instructed to set my seat and controls just as fbodfather suggests.
No lumbar issues with my 1SS in 33k miles.

Nice info F-Bod!! At 6'2" 299 lbs (hehe), I need all the help I can get.

I've never seat issues and routinely use the seat warmer as a heating pad for my lower back. The high setting provides some serious heat.
