Ok so here are a couple pics of my set up.I haven't read anything about the ease of this bolt in system. This is totally bolt in,in fact these pics are from my 2011 1LTRS/RS not my 1LE. I couldn't imagine using anything different. Hope this helps.

Looking good. That looks like the Speedware setup. Can you please post some picks of the tank plate with a wider view to show how intrusive they are into the rear seat footwells??

Thanks!

Separate from the likely belt angle issue . . .

Because the longer the runs of belting from their anchorage to the seat/your shoulders get, the "stretchier" they become. Thereby compromising the whole purpose for having the harness in the first place (keeping you fixed IN the seat, not just somewhere near it).

It seems like there are a lot of guys out there that want these harness bars, harnesses and mounting hardware but most aren't putting much thought in to functionality or safety of the equipment they are wanting or already have.

Norm you are correct. Short belts are better. Also for people interested in restraint equipment, look at the mounting instructions for the harnesses... It's very specific in the angles of the belts and the shock load rating of the mounting points.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from Speedware on the shock load rating for their harness bar (if they even do have a rating) and the angle that shoulder belts will be at once installed. Currently BK auto is the only one who makes a certified bar. Most name brand harness manufacturers recommend a shock load of 2500lbs. for the mounting points. You got to think will this setup keep me in the seat at a 100+mph impact? Once you think of it like that... even the stock belts seem sketchy.

I run http://www.sscc.us/ and they are very strict, getting past tech is a bitch. In order to run my 125 mph (tech speed 140 mph)race i have to adhere to certain specs, and this harness bar pass's with flying colors.

That's good to know! I can tell by the design that it most likely has the strength, I just wanted to verify with them. If your making it through 140 mph tech then thats even better. We have some fast tracks up here too. Last thing I want is to wreck, worse than that is to not be secure in such event. Knock on wood.

I notice you only have driver side restraints. Does your sanctioning body require equal restraints on each side if you have a passenger?

I'm going to be doing events with NASA NW this year. Haven't been though one of their tech inspection yet, but I think if I select the right equipment then I'll be set. Also doing some events with other groups but they aren't as strict and usually safety and vehicle inspection is on you.

The only reason i haven't bought a passenger belt is i have never had a passenger til last Sat. I do need to get one,as i hope to have my boy be my navigator at Silver state next year,so yes i have to have the same 6pt harness. You should come run Silver state with me it is a blast.

Sounds like a blast but I probably won't make it this year.

Anyone seen anything on the 5th point mounting or requirements? I would like to modify the stock seats for the 5th point but want to do it right the first time.

I don't have the desire to swap out seats on race weekends and want to retain factory appearance/airbags.

If you get a 6 point or I suppose you can even do it with a 5 point, it would just be a little uncomfortable, but basically run it underneath you and then between the upper and lower portions of the seat. You'll need a tank plate to secure it to the car.
