Are you going to make the Dyno session at LMR?

I'm in conroe at least twice a week which is why I have 2000 miles on my car after 2 weeks of ownership. I'm heading that way Thursday after work & again Friday, but it might be really late as I would like to take my car to the track & get some times. I'd be glad to meet up & let you check it out/drive it.

My schedule is usually Tue, Thur, to pick my daughter from day care & every other fri for my weekend. I just recently moved closer to work from Montgomery. My brother still lives in Montgomery so I'm there alot. Let me kow if you want to meet up sometime.

I'm right on I45 (Exit 82) River Plantation just South of Loop 336. I'll drop you a PM with my number... give me a call anytime when you have a few minutes and we can meet up for a quick burger or something. I work downtown and usually home by 5. A little earlier if I go in on Friday.

I'm also due another trip to the track...

I really appreciate you stopping by Thursday and taking a spin in the cars.... Those shorties are sweet. Here's a pic from our visit. Great to get to know you and we will meet up again for sure.
Hopefully at the track side by side.

Thanks again,
Mike

I'm getting the same thing after installing my New Era intake (it's only been on a day though). I'm just curious, is yours still "bucking" or did the computer eventually adjust to get rid of it? I'm a bit concerned 'cuz that cannot be a good thing and I'm wondering how long the computer takes to adjust (if ever)...

I have DT shorties waiting to go on next also, but haven't gotten to that yet.

Yall are not the only ones having problems with their CAI system. Another shop called me today to discuss this matter and ended up ordering several of ours instead. It is all due to where the MAS AIR FLOW sensor is located. That is why we did SEVERAL tests until we came up with our final product. Our (LMR's) Cold Air Induction system can be installed with out any tuning requried. if you have any questions regarding this matter please feel free to give me a call at the shop.

MIne never stopped bucking. I took it for a tune Friday & the tuner spent all day on it. Thought he finally got it & went to pull the car off the dyno & it was bad enough that it stalled out. He put the stock back on. One run & the car was tuned, no problems.

Oh well, it's only money. It looks pretty sitting in my trunk though.

well you should get your money back and that would offset your money for the tune lol

Did you reinstall the stock radiator seal? I got one of their first intakes, apparently, that came w/ incorrect install instructions, regarding that piece. 'Just got off the phone w/ Mike from New Era and he basically said that w/out that and the front shield, the engine would be getting TOO MUCH air to handle, thus causing the bucking and eventually throwing a code. I'm going to reinstall mine tonight w/ those parts intact and see what happens.

Yes mine was installed. I skipped over that part of the directions so mine was never removed. Funny though as he's telling me my car is the only one to have this problem.

Well, I reinstalled the intake with all the right parts earlier this week and disconnected the battery again for 30 minutes during the process. After 4 days of driving, including a 70-mile round trip, the "bucking" has been greatly reduced, but not completely eliminated (it's more of an occasional slight "hick-up" when letting off the gas completely). Unfortunately, I remain extremely unhappy with the results. I expected better throttle response than stock (I already have a muffler delete, btw, which did negatively affect throttle response beforehand), but it's actually WORSE!? I also don't feel much of an improvement in the mid-upper range either, so I'm highly doubting New Era's dyno claims. I bought this intake because I liked the design better than all the others and the dyno sheets looked impressive, but I feel like I just threw my money away on this one. Hopefully the DT shorties will impress me when I get those installed, but I want my money back on this intake! Not only were parts missing on initial delivery (of course, New Era sent the missing parts right away), but the instructions were wrong and could have caused a major issue with my engine! Yet, even after having everything the way it should be, I'm getting no performance improvement; just the opposite!?

We have a saying in the industry. "We don't drive dynos."
Driveability won't show in dyno charts to well. There is a reason that the companies that do this for a living haven't released their kits yet. They want them right. They want both the chassis dyno and the butt dyno to be happy.

Deltaskier, Did you get my message? I want you to send your kit back to us so we can test it to see what the issue is, it will be replaced/refunded whatever you like.

fldrummer, take it to the track to test, it is difficult to sometimes feel gains especially if you have other things done already.

We too have done MAF placement testing, a lot of it. As well as testing side style kits which is why we decided to build something unique and different. There are a lot of people out there running our intake system without any issue, if there is something wrong, or you have a concern, please contact me. Our kit too can be installed without a tune, if someone is having an issue, I need you to contact me so we can figure it out.
