If you plan to track or autocross at all consider the Recaros. I went to my local dealer last July to look at a new 13 1ss to see if I liked the cloth interior, as I was going to order a 14 this spring. I decided to get the 13 cause I personally liked the rear end much better than the 14 (hate the amount of plastic on the rear bumper). The options I wanted and don't have are the Recaros and the backup camera. I didn't think the camera was that big of deal even knowing the limited sight these cars have, I'm now thinking of seeing if the dealer can add one this spring. I wasn't going to do the RS package, but the car I bought had it and I actually really like the hid's and the halos now. I do have the Nav and sunroof, which I didn't really want, but I guess the price you pay to have a car NOW!!! btw mine is VR and I love it. Factory Recaros will be added when they come out unless the are super expensive then it's aftermarket.

I just got a 2013 convertible 2SS manual trans RS with NPP and Navigation on 12/18/13. I live in NJ and had to get my local dealer to get it from a dealer in Va. It cost me 42900. Personally I don't like the rear lights on the 14's. It makes the Camaro look like an Acura from behind. I think it loses it's Camaro appeal.
Anyway, I would go with the 2SS. Rear camera is great. Didn't want Navigation but couldn't find any car I wanted without it. NPP is a must. Not matter which one you get, I am sure you will love it. Have fun! |

Whatever you do don't get the rs package. The 1LE looks so much more badass without it. That chrome strip that comes with th rs package looks like a Walmart add on.

I just picked up my 2014 2SS in Red Rock Metallic with the RS package and Navi a couple of months ago and love it. The color is a knock out... so many complements on it. I have to say I disagree about the RS package, the headlights and tail lights look incomplete without it and the chrome strip sets it off, especially with a nice dark color. Not sure how that would like on the 1LE package, since your going for a blacked out look, especially not attractive if you bought it in black... Now, having the 2SS with the HUD, heated seats and gauges are a MUST now that I have them. But, it's all in what you want to spend. Whatever you get, it's sure to be a sweet ride. And as for color, to each their own... I love the Red Rock Metallic.

Does anyone know if the Recaro seats are any lower than the SS2 leather ones ?
I found that I had to put them down as low as they can go and back so my head wouldn't hit the roof by the top of the door. I'm only 6' and find I just fit so hoping maybe the Recaros might be better ?? BTW, the one I drove had the sunroof, I've heard that that might make a difference too, that there is slightly lower headroom with that ?? Last edited by SSMY1LE; 01-04-2014 at 11:05 PM. |

Hi Rob. I too am in the negotiating stage, new to Camaro and came to Camaro5 to hear from owners.
I'm 6'-5" so my #1 option is fit. I went to the autoshow specifically looking for a convertible I could fit in. C7 still too small. 911s $145K etc. The only thing that fit physically and financially was Camaro. Went to Dealer #1 to try on for size. In the convertible, I have three fingers of head clearance (and plenty of leg room). I'd like the steering wheel to telescope out a little farther but it's acceptable. In the coupe with sunroof, my head brushes the ceiling. Because sun roofs are built inside the car, they take up an inch or more of clearance. So be sure you sit in the exact configuration you're wanting to buy. On the price side of things, my best offer to date is invoice <$1000 + incentives. I've discovered GM has closed the gap between invoice and MSRP due to Internet disclosure of invoice. It used to be 9%, now it's more like 4.5%. So, at $1000 under, I'm still only 2% below. I'm hoping GM bumps the cash from $500 to $1000 next month as I read somewhere they were sitting on 167 day supply of Camaros before Christmas. Oh, also, I'm going to factory order to ensure I get exactly what I want and so that my car hasn't been sitting around in a lot for months, being sat in and test drove and who knows what else. |

). Not sure how to find out the price here from MSRP and invoice, never done that before...........anyone ??Kind of figured the sunroof might have been the difference, have you tried the Recaro seats !! I think I'll wait to order until after the auto show, it's Feb 14-23 here in Toronto. That way I can get a better look at them to make up my mind. Being so new to these cars I have a lot to learn !! Have you test driven one? That's all you really need to know. The first dealer I visited had a used 2SS on the lot so he let me test drive it for as long as I wanted---by myself. I took off for 45 minutes and loved it. I was concerned that the 1000 extra pounds over my current ride would bother me but 426hp kinda kept my mind off the extra weight. I dont know about Canada but, the way this country is headed, you won't be able to buy a powerful V8 in the not to distant future. Good luck with your search. Don't wait too long. Pull the trigger!

You definitely was the 2SS / RS option! I would skip the My Link 7" Screen. recaro seats, I would have to see a car with them and actually sit in them before purchasing.
