I understand and partly agree with the principle of what hes saying, by keeping the camaro rarish and not the most bought sports car, it keeps it that much "higher" in the world.

but in this reality, GM really needs to sell as many of these as possible. What you're probably thinking of is that GM should produce a limited amount of Z28 camaros to keep them from everyday sightings so to speak, but right now I would be happy if an SS or LT was in every garage in America.

Credit's not tight. Have you seen the rates for lending lately? People are either not able to make a purchase, or are gun-shy about making a purchase.

Exactly. Credit is tight for people who have not lived responsibly, and THAT is a good thing. For those who have lived within their means, credit is both cheap and easy.

Many banks and credit unions are offering 3.9% on new and used cars, along with manufacturers (GM included) offering 0-1.9%. Credit is plentiful and still relatively cheap right now.

I stopped by another dealer today to pickup some touch up paint, I ended up in the show room. Nice clean dealership, so wheres the camaro ? The manager tells me we can't keep them on the floor soon as they come in there gone. If people were able to sit in one and take it for a drive you would see one on every corner. I wish more dealerships would keep their showroom cars to bring the custmers back in. The car sells it self

That's the way it should be for people who try to buy anything that they can't afford.

But seriously, I haven't heard from many people on here who have been complaining about not being able to get a loan. Only an 18 year old kid here and there wanting to know if he can afford a 2010 Camaro when he makes $400 a month and is going to pay $6000 a year for insurance.

More Camaros on the road means GM is succeeding/surviving.

And I agree with the statement that this will increase the probability of a generation 6th.

It will be interesting what comes next.

Enjoy each moment/stage as GM rebuilds for the future.

if there is a camaro on every corner, ill be very upset and annoyed... we dont need that many.... sure mass produce them.... but we dont need as many camaros as mustangs..... that would just take away from the beauty of the car

if u saw angelina jolie or jessica alba on every corner u walk around.... will u still think that they are as beautiful as u think they are not? of course not

Let's hope the credit crunch continues.

More companies can go bankrupt.

Hell, maybe we can get US unemployment past 10 percent.

um i would think i was in heaven! and we do need to see a camaro on every corner like rustangs. That = GM staying alive and there being a 6th gen camaro and probably a Z28. Then if you want a rare car you can get the Z28 or even a ZL1 if that comes out

Bottom line is if you can't afford it don't buy it. Thats why the economy is the way it is now. to many people over extending themselves with credit.
That is the problem; They don't! They rob Peter to pay Paul constantly. All of these ghetto folk in the poor sections of Los Angeles and New York City, were given balloon interest rates on mortgages, with some skyrocketing to 20% and above, but they didn't care. So they went out and wanted that nice new Escalade with 10K rims and all blacked out like gangsta rappers, and how did this happen? They took equity loans and ran up huge credit card debt with incomes that couldn't accomodate one-tenth of what they could actually afford. This isn't just for city folk. People all over the country were getting away with this crap. Selling food stamps for Air Jordan high-tops. How lame can you get and please don't tell me this never happened because it did.

Because this happened and the credit market tumbled, those in the middle class that could afford to pay their bills, save money and not spend beyond their means (like me and my wife) are now stuck being penalized, even with perfect credit and a good income. 7.1% on my Camaro with $25K down is downright disgusting. I wanted to punch that finance manager when she gave me my options. Unfortunately if I wasted time looking for banks, I may have lost the car. People that should be able to manage payments on this car, suddenly cannot because of those people that shouldn't. I can stomach it, but it sucks. These poor SOB's will always find a way around the system because "bling" is more important then responsibility and in the end, those that are responsible end up paying for it. So yeah, THANKS AMERICA for not knowing what you can afford!
