in my family, I've always been the sports car guy and my Dad has always been the family car guy... he converted to 4drs in 1972, when he was 26, and I'm still buying 2dr cars at over 30years old.

but the new G8 GXP might change all that

My Dad, who is 77 yrs. old, owns a 1969 Z/28.
He bought it in 1985 off the 3rd owner and has fully researched the history of the car.
The 3rd owner painted it black w/yellow stripes but original colour was green w/white stripes.
It will be great to give him a ride in a 2010.

Some of you may have read some of my articles where I mention that I saw my first Camaro on September 10, 1966....when my family's dealership got their first Camaro off the carrier........

Mom got her first Camaro on September 29, 1966...an Emerald Turquoise Coupe........(demo, of course) and Grandmother got a Granada Gold Coupe the same night......

Mom (and Dad) have had many Camaro demos over the years -- and even Grandmother had some 'memorable' ones -- like her 69 Hugger Orange RS/SS -- which never went over 40mph........

Cousin Sue has her 1967 RS Convertible that was originally her demo -- it was sold in late summer of 67 - and came back on trade in, I believe, 1977 -- and so she grabbed it and put it away......

Cousin Tom (of Tom Henry Racing....) has a couple put away -- one of which is the White 98 Brickyard 400 Pace Car convertible that's found in the late 4th gen catalogs -- (group picture...)

Dad went to that Great Chevy Showroom in the sky in the early 90s -- Mom's still around - a very healthy 80-something -- and drives her 2002 Camaro daily. (Red of course -- with silver stripes...) She's been granted "honorary membership" in several Camaro Clubs -- and still goes to NEOCC's annual show as well as PACE , Bowling Green, and a few others. She's very much looking forward to Indy this year as well.........

She's already told me that she wants an Orange 5th gen coupe ASAP........

So -- yup -- Camaros have been in my blood from the very beginning.

My first "owned" Camaro -- a 1973 Type LT

My first company car Camaro -- a 1977 Z28 --

Well, as far as I know...just my aunt. She has a bright red '94...driving that thing in Florida! Lucky duck...along with all of you who live down there! Otherwise, it's just me...and there shall be a long line of Camaro drivers after me!

but...both my uncles drive Chevys:

2003 Corvette 'vert
1970 Chevelle SS (454)

it's in my BLOOD

I got "into" Camaros when my old roommate bought a brand new 97 Z28...woah, did that sucka move. Saying I was "impressed" is far from how I felt. I could not get over the raw power that car had...and the handling. Besides the 93 Cobra he had before it, those were the only two musclecars I'd ever driven.

My Dads cousin would buy a new 3rd Gen every year. She kept current. However, winters were a task when driving up all the hills in their area and she finally gave up on the rear wheel drive cars...moved on to 4x4's to get up those icy hills.

My avatar shows how it all started. It was the summer of '91 and my dad pulled into the driveway with the top down. I think my avatar was the 3rd or 4th picture he took. And I've had it ever since then. Of course he used it for a daily driver for a while and through no fault of his own went through a hail storm which ruined the paint. Then the engine blew in '97.

I got my license and drove a Corolla for a year and then a miracle happened, I was a little kid again because at the age of 17 my dad pulled up into the driveway exactly as he had 12 years before that. Except this time, he told me it was mine. Told me to take him for a ride, and this time it had a 350 instead of a 305! Talk about one excited teen! So I guess I'm the 3rd owner.

there had been no sports cars of any kind in my family until my brother bought a new mustang in 2003, now he has a ford 150 with a lift kit, he proclaims he's buying the gt500, and i assure him i'll make him trade it in for a camaro ss when i beat the crap outta him (racing ofcourse)...maybe phisically too!, but none the less i will start the camaro family line, 50 years from now you will get my sons or my sons's sons writing on how grandpa or dad had a great car once.

My love for sports cars and V8 muscle cars especially began the day my dad brought home his '94 Formula. I still haven't forgiven him for selling it 6 months before my 16th birthday so this 5th gen has been a long time coming

I bought a 1987 Monte Carlo LS w/ T-Tops when I was 17 and totalled it four days later. BOY WAS I SAD FOR THE LONGEST.

I worked almost six months for that car and blew it all away and LESS than a week.

I don't think that constitutes as a muscle car but my next baby WILL be the Camaro!

Our 5th gen will be the first in either one of our families, my ex-brother in-law(sisters ex.) had a Mustang GT 5.0 in the early-90's, my wifes brother has always been into restoring older muscle cars(mainly Mopars).

Thats all the muscle car history for our family...until Bumblebee arrives sometime next year....
