This is one of the biggest reasons you guys are so successful year in and year out - very few big, problematic contracts. By going to cheaper alternatives, you can fill more holes. Then, when the right move comes along, you can add a star guy like Randy Moss or Darelle Revis without worrying about cap consequences or making roster moves to accommodate them.

The Loins signed Seattle Golden Tate to a 5 year deal. Tate will not be the WR that the lions needs to keep defenders from Calvin Johnson.

Tate actually had the fewest dropped passes (by percentage) of any receiver in the league last year. He's a step up from any of the other receivers on the roster (except Johnson of course).

May be he can get the defense from piling on Johnson. The only problem now is that leaves the lions with only 4 million cap room. They need a corner back TE and another WR.

Yeah, Injury prone....guy dives at his knees and he's injury prone, I think the term unlucky is more appropriate.
No worries though he'll have targets...he always does, I think last years rookie class will shine, Amendola will have a better year & Gronk is bound to have a full season sooner or later...and hopefully this will be it.
I also think the Pats will grab an experienced reciever somewhere.

This is one of those moves that the Pats make work, I'll be glad to add him to the roster.....and now that he won't be with all those PED users up in Seattle, he should be able to stay on the field after his suspension.

Heh, you do remember he was the one suspended for PED's (not Sherman)...then of course he got nailed for non-PED's last year.

Regardless, he's a big CB, and pretty effective. Not as good a cover corner as Sherman, and he does get burned a bit...In his case, I think Earl Thomas helped him out more than Sherman, as QB's were always more likely to throw his way.

A lot of these moves look good on paper; will be interesting to see them put it all together. Browner & Revis would be a huge upgrade, if the safeties can hold up on their end. The Broncos by far have the' best off season on paper. I don't even get where the hell they came up with all this money after paying Manning, Miller, Clady etc...

Looks like it will cost them Moreno and Decker however. Both played very well at key times for the Broncos, but adding Ware, Talib and Ward sure does sure up the other side of the ball.

My Eagles brought in Malcolm Jenkins, I'm happy about that, he's a versatile guy that can cover and tackle in space. Should provide an immediate impact!
The Pats are gonna crash hard after the Brady era ends, they never pay guys, but they do always do really well in the draft with getting guys that just fit.

"Your Eagles" also just brought in Sproles...as far as crashing hard after Brady, we'll see.
You can't replace Brady, but the Colts did a pretty good job replacing Manning didn't they.
