Very good info about oil. Installing my cam in a couple of weeks. I will be using the Joe Gibbs oil as well. But I've heard so many conflicting opinions about using break-in oil after installing the cam. A lot of people say not needed, just run the ls30. Not sure if I'm going to use the break-in oil. Is that mainly for new engines? Opinions please?

I too am using the ls30 after break in , the break in oil is meant to be drained immediately after the car cools down to remove the metal, and I have a magnetic drain plug to help I got at auto zone. Then I figure drain it after 500 miles or so and it should be good to go.

I buy my own oil and filter and dealer changes it and disposes of old oil for 13.00. To me 13.00 well spent and they also check air in tires and refill wiper fluid.

Yes I did read your post moron!
Your first line in your post "wow, I only use dexos as its the blend recommended by the manufacture".

I was just stating that Dexos is a specification it is not a blend. Don't be busting my balls when you have your head up your ass. Glad you feel the need to belittle people for just trying to make a correction but I guess you're a friggin' genius and don't need the help.

I'm almost sure they are using conventional oil.
