Thankyou. Looks like you are 212 lbs heavier than my coupe. Now all we need are couple more coupe weights

4380 with 3/4 tank of gas 6M and driver. Like to say 200 but probably closer to 220lbs. I couldn't get out of the car there was a lineup of semi's waiting for me to get off the scale

Now I'm more interested in driver weight. Only one post under 200. I'm 205. I guess we need that extra HP to haul our lard asses around

According to the 2012 factory brochure for the ZL1 it's weight is 4,120, which gives it a power to weight ratio of 1hp to 7.10 hp. The new Z/28 is 3,820 so it's power to weight ratio is 1hp to 7.56 hp. Just goes to show how much the brakes, tires, wheels, and 3:91s help the Z/28 on a track. I know there other things that help the Z/28 also, but that would really close the gap and give you the best of both worlds

That's better yet. Very cool that they are lighter than GM said they would be.

When GM advertises the vehicle weights, is that for a car fully optioned? is the tank full?? Which wheels/tires

Just curious, since I had also heard the 4120 figure, but the actual weights people have chimed in with seem to vary, some higher, some lower.

Again, just curious.

maybe, the pull of gravity may vary depending on your local position and/or elevation, causing minor changes in weight.

The official numbers are always based on the base model with no optional hardware or trim level. ZL1 is considered a model, so we have an official curb weight for its base model. 1LE, for instance, is just a package, so we have no official curb weight or EPA fuel consumption numbers for it. With its short gearing it would suffer from fuel consumption, but GM doesn't need to announce, and can actually use SS base model's better fuel consumption numbers in its window sticker due to 1LE just being a package. These rules are meant to make life a bit less complex and easier for the manufacturers, but they also cause these 'little' side effects : )
