Or do you want to leave it as is so the dealer can see it? But that may cause more damage.

If it was my car, I would correct the problem before there's any more damage done, because you dealer may not fix it.
It looks like he noticed the damage and notified the dealer before the NOWEEDS. It sucks they aren't honoring his word, IMO. I'd definately adjust them, regardless of the dealer, just like you said though.

Did ypou or someone else install the diverters? If you had it done by others you should have a dated receipt to show the damage was done before the diverters. Go to another dealer and tell them you will become a loyal customer if they will help you out. Nothing to lose is there?
Midas installed them. Been going to them for awhile. The owner pointed out that they were melting it the day before it was installed. I know it's not their fault because I was shown it BEFORE the diverters were even touched!

Exactly. They've lost a costumer though, that's for sure. Shame that my salesman has to work there, he was great.

Maybe something like this painted on the plastic around the tips would help? Regardless, I don't think this should be happening. Looks like your left one isn't centered, as the melting is not in the upper center, it's towards the left. That should be proof alone that they didn't install them correctly. And the diverters should NOT be increasing exhaust temps. That's stupid. If anything, the extra foot or so of tubing should provide more surface area and time spent traveling in the exhaust to COOL your exaust temps.

Anyway, if they're not going to fix it I would at least put some sort of protective barrier on there if you don't have enough piping left to pull the tips out some more. Sorry man, that sucks.

They spoke with a GM rep and said hopefully they'll replace them but will give me a call back to inform me when they find out.

Hope I don't have this problem when I get my straight pipes done! The dealership should be fixing this for you for all of the 10+ obvious reasons we know it is their fault.

I would still love to see a straight on pic of the alignment. There's a bunch of us that have the GMPP exhaust and we would like to know what not to do. This experience can help prevent this from happening to others, but we need to know how your tips were aligned?

How far do the tips extend out? - pic from above or from above angles
How is the exhaust centered? - pic from staight behind

Maybe some who ordered the ground effects will be nice enough to sell you the stock one that's taken off.

Dude,

I seem to remember trading posts with you on the regional forum before. I think you were recommending Pohanka to someone else. When I brought up their price gouging and horrible customer service you got bent out of shape.

If I remember correctly, someone was being taken for 5K over MSRP and the car was used (bought at auction) with a damaged front fascia (during transit) that would have to be repainted. I told them to walk. Do you still feel good about your recommendation?

No, what I said was that I didn't pay over MSRP. I payed under invoice due to connections. I never recommended them. I thought they WERE good..until I got my car .

Your exhaust is way too far back. You would have seen melting right away after leaving the dealership if they put them on that way. Have you done any other mods? Even looks like the top of your tips are scorched. Here's mine that have been on for a month with no problems.

Based on your other thread you got your diverter put on at Midas on
July 24th.
You should have gone straight to your dealer whenever you first noticed the issue (and waited to get the diverter put on).

And I would also have your car checked out to see what's up. What made your exhaust tips get so hot? The inside of your tips look scorched (which really shouldn't happen on a stock Camaro).

And I noticed in the pics that the heat damage was starting to work its way up the outside of your car. I'd get the problem corrected before you have some more serious damage.
