Moose, you can store it at my house for nothing....just leave me the keys in case I need to move it out of the garage everyday, uhhh, I mean every now and then. Don't worry, I'll take care of it for you. I haven't decided yet...I've thought about trading my Silverado and paying the difference out of savings, but then I have to get another truck to drive in the winter. Having paid cash for my Silverado, I don't owe a dime on it, so I would hate to give it up. I love having no car payments (when we traded in the Tahoe, we paid cash for the balance of the Enclave too). My other option is one that I don't really want to do. I have a stock account that I have always added money to (for buying stocks and bonds), and all of that money stays in the account (either in stock form or cash). While we each have a couple IRA's, my wife and I have always said we wouldn't touch that stock account for things along the way, it was for retirement. But, I have one stock there that I've been thinking about selling for awhile because I'm so far ahead on it, I might as well take the profits. I've been watching it closely and if I can get it to go up just a little bit more, I can sell that stock and pay for the Camaro outright. Sounds like the easy answer, but again, we've been using this as retirement money...it's a little hard to justify. |

I hate mine like you wouldn't believe. I refuse to go through the drama that led me to get an Impreza, but I will simply inform you that none of it was good. My car is a representation of a bad time, and it needs to go. Unfortunately, it isn't worth enough to get any money back to get something else as a holdover. I'm stuck with the Subaru, and I will do everything in my power to secure a Camaro as soon as possible. Obviously, I will have to save up so I don't go bankrupt right out of college. I will be living very small for a long time to get the car I want.

It is going to be hard to sell my bike... I know that very well... I always find myself driving a car down the road and then the thought always reoccurs to me..."Hey.. I wanna bike" so off we go looking for a bike.... I keep the bike just long enough to sell it and start the process over and over again..

I got a brand new bike now, that is paid for... I got a brand new car that already has a note... That I love to death.. gonna hate to sell it... and then buy something used just to get back and forth to work... I got a whole year to figgure all this stuff out and how I might or might not can make it happen. Like someone said earlier... A wise man will wait. Remember how we all got excited about the 82 camaro coming out?? And they were POS cars?? Not until 3 years later when the 85 IROCZ come out did anyone start gettin crazy about em, then everyone had to have one. Also I can not bare the thought of someone flying past me in they're 2010 camaro on the day the car launches........with me still driving my Jetta....HAHAHA!!... I wont be able to bare it. Im so spoiled, im sure Ill figgure it all out by then. That's why its good to be me.

But I could not resist temptation. I have not had a brand new car since 1990 with a new mazda b220 pickup. I kept it 5 yrs which is a record for me. Then, just last may or june I guess it was, I took the plunge and bought that new 06 TDI Jetta. (For mileage reasons) So I have a new car. Am I nuts wanting to do it all over again in less then a Year and a half? Aww heck. Some Americans trade in they're cars as soon as they're ashtrays get full.

I am 44 yrs old. Do not have a pot to piss in so to speak. I was thinkin to myself this morning. "Self... What the heck are you thinkin boy?" "you are already wanting to buy another car, and have not saved one red cent for your retirement. You know that retirement wont be there when you need it..." So is this "GUILT" I am feeling here? Or is it me simply wanting wine when I only have a beer can buget? The economy has to be making a Big Impact on whether we all by a new camaro next year.. I am sure GM is thinking the same thing for avge blue collar folk. I took a calulator to it last night. If I can get this car for around 35K, I should be able to do it. But by the skin of my teeth. Not sure how I can fuel it for a full year. That is another think I am thinking of, making a savings set aside just for fuel alone for one whole year at a time. 3k or 4k. Do we know how much this dam car is gonna cost with over 400 hp?? I am already seeing dodge dealers getting 50k for a 40k msrp on the new challenger. WTF??? Chevy is already stated the Camaro will not be as cheap as a mustang in comparison. Well if Dodge can get 40k 50k for a challenger, Ill bet you sure as shit the 2010 camaro will be 35k plus. Any takers? With that being said, I have set my goal at 35k. If the car is 40k plus, I can already figgure on paying upward of $600 a month for the car, even after I sale my Jetta, and my bike. That being said, A 40k 600 a month car payment I cannot afford. AGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH I wanna scream... GM... Promise us we can afford this car so you can continue to make this car for at least the next 5 plus years... Just long enough for your DIE HARD Bow tie fans to be able to go out there, show them challengers and rustangs an ass whuppin'.......or two.... But daddy GM, we can't whup a rustang or that new tempting us to buy 6.1 litre challenger screamin "HEMI....HEMI....HEMI..." at us.....all day long without the money for our tools to do the job right the first time... Did you get all that? Im having a moment here..

It's funny, I paid off my Camaro in November of last year. Now that should be saving me $340.00 a month. I had planned to set this aside in a separate account so I could have a decent down payment for the new Camaro when it comes out and keep my old one. Well I should have $1,360 so far for the 2010 Camaro fund but there doesn't seem to be any where near that.
I think what I should have done and likely still will do is set up a direct deposit into a savings account for the $340. Maybe that will keep me from spending it! The other thought I had was putting the extra $ to paying off my truck. If I did it would be paid off in Dec 2009 and I would have that money $470 mo and the old Camaro $340 mo for the new one. Wow I could get one SICK ass Camaro for $810 a month!!! Shoot I bet I wouldn't need over $600 (We better not!) for the top dawg!

I can't wait until the salesperson asks "how much you putting down?" And I can say "All of it!" Oh yea, I have been waiting on this for a loooon time, and busting my a$$ the past few years building 2 businesses. It will be a surpise birthday gift for my wife! Providing I can't get one by April 27th.
