Yup it is not visible to the human eye :party0048:

As it stands right now you don't need to take off the trim, either just the two pieces on the end of the dashboard and the the center console.

No this will not void the warrenty and if it does it will hold void a replacement dash because of the two small holes I will be drill just to hide it better, although it is not needed.

Anyway, I have a couple more things coming so I will keep everyone updated on my status this weekend as there isn't much I can do until I get that stuff.
you should quit your day job and just mod (my) peoples camaros

Have you tried using that for the power source rather than doing any drilling?

Look very nice

That was me.

If you pull pull open the panel on the drivers side dash of the car to see the fusebox, the ABL lighting power connector is in that panel. It's right above the A/C vent hose, right behind where the ABL would go on the left side of the gauges. It's already connected to the dimmer switch. There might also be a plug on the other side of the dash, but I haven't looked for it.

Let us know what you come up with!

I wonder if the 1LT and 1SS have wiring for ABL. Probably not.

Was it 12vdc or knocked down, I noticed that there are some EL's out there that run on 3Vdc?

Very interesting stuff, I was disappointed when I discovered my 2SS/RS ABL didn't go across the dash trim pieces... so maybe soon this will be available! Keep us posted, it's looking great!

sweet... looks nice...

I thought I read on here that the plug in for the dash ABL is actually by the fuse box pannel inside... May want to look into that.

Count me in

You will make a fortune if you can get this to work, easy to install and looks like the existing door panel. Does it actually go behind the existing dash plastic like the door panel? The dash trim is already clear on the top so it should work just like the doors. Good luck.

Excellent work

What size wire do you have in those pics ?? ..... There's a distributer here in Montreal for the EL wire, I'm waiting anxiously to find out more on your installation

This is a very good idea. I'll definitely be installing some blue or UV LED's in my Camaro whenever I get it. I look forward to hearing where you tapped in to to steal the juice!
