I had a 2004 Cobra.

2.8 pulley, cold air intake, throttle body, off road x-pipe, and mufflers. Stock gears and tires ran 11.8 @ 117-118 mph.

Drag Radials and front skinnies, taking out the seats and all the extra weight I could, added race fuel, ran 11.59 @ 119 mph.

I miss her greatly.

he swears going down a track he spins through first so he short shifts into second. that was what he told me. he's one of them guys that just has to show out when somebody gets a new car so that people will think he's the best, and he see's my car as a potential threat to beat him. stock for stock i think i could beat him, but he's got mods to his,so i'm like

what's the point in racing me knowing your just going to beat me. i told him to let me mod my car first before i raced him to see how i'd do against him.

Why did you downgrade? I had a coworker that had a 04 Vert traded it for a 05 Roush Stage II he did it because insurance was cheaper.

I would still race it's still fun to take it to the track, just because someone will beat you doesn't mean you shouldn't get to enjoy racing. get mods

I kick myself everyday. That car would be paid off by now too.

At the time, I wanted something new and wanted to get out of "street racing". As I felt that I was really close to going to jail or killing someone. So I figured the only way to stop is to get rid of it. Now I'm married and a home owner and such. I've started messing with this stang..but it's no cobra that's for sure.

I see, its all about control man. I gave my coworker crap about getting rid of his Cobra for a Stage I Roush not II my mistake. He complained about insurance and he was in his 50's

on and i forgot he's trying to run me for 200 bucks. i don't race for money, i do it for fun like you stated, but he's doing the thing where all he wants to do is race for money, and when you dont race him he goes back to his talking about how i was a ***** and wouldn't do it. sorry but seeing if my car is faster than yours isn't worth me putting up 200 bucks to find out

Cobra owners can be full of themselves..this I know.

Tell him for 200 bucks, both pull into a gas station and see how many people walk over to look at his car or to look at your car.

My cobra never got much lover at car shows. Even had saleens(99-04 body) parked next to me, much slower car, and people would be like "I bet that saleen beats that cobra" etc. Never really had the heart to down the saleen infront of the owner, I would just nod and suggest running the cars to find out.

Stock for stock the cobra will eat it alive. End of story. You have a car proven to be a mid 12 second car stock. The camaro is what? 12.9-13.2 range I am assuming? On the first page someone was complaining about its always how the other cars driver can not drive, thats the case quite a bit believe it or not. A 13 second car on the dot will not beat a 12.5 car on the dot if the drivers have equal driving capabilities.

Hmm...I always thought the general consensus of these cobras were like 12.9. Camaro is like 13.0. Sounds like a drivers race to me

Well stated and very true! Having owned both ... I agree with your statement. My stock 04 cobra would eat my stock 2010 camaro.
