I have not had any sunroof issues on my '13 ZL1 with 7K miles on it.

I had no sunroof issues with my '11 SS in 8K miles.

The camaro sunroof decreases headroom by about 1.5 inches. If you like headroom and are 6ft or over don't get it.

Same mileage and no issues. Looks fine open to me. Just like every other car with an open sunroof.

If you are already weary about getting a sunroof that concern will not fade with time. It will lead to you regretting the decision to get one and possibly this whole scenario repeating itself. You will look for every little thing to be wrong if you get one.
I daily drove my 2010 SS with no sunroof so I have experience with the Gen 5 without one. I always hated a sunroof but my car came with one and the deal was good so I bought it even though I did not want one. That being said.... I love mine. Gen 5 Camaros are know to be dark and feel cramped. With the sunroof open if feels and is a ton brighter inside. I have enjoyed running with mine open during nice weather. I would buy again.

Wait I have headroom? It's tight with a helmet on but possible. The seat can be lowered. Sat in a Z/28 with the Recaros yesterday, it doesn't have a sunroof and it was also very tight on headroom.

I've decided as one member posted before me to opt out of it. My experience was so terrible with the srt that I can't in good faith do it again. In my modded 2011 SS I had so little room with a helmet on that it was already cause for concern. I threw down on the 2014 m6 with recaros micro fibre nav and carbon cowl today and I'm thoroughly stoked to be back in a camaro. Especially one that produces 580 hp considering I spent 15 grand on mods to get my ss where the zl1 is. See how long I last before the mods start.

Only problem mine has is under moderate to aggressive acceleration the inside shade/slide cover opens up and im constantly having to slide it closed, gets annoying as the 2012 srt8 does not give me this problem.

Between the flat roof, how dumb they look when they are open, less head room, and the extra weight I choose not get one. Just my .02 worth.

Camaro ZL1 w/sunroof = YES ( No Brainer ).

This is 2014 .... years past sunroofs and t-tops were leaky and noisy, not anymore.

At first I did not like it.....

I have grown to like it now for various reasons.... Once I tinted all the windows, the black moon roof looked a 100% better on a white ride. and tied it all in with the rest of the black on the car. Out where I live , the CHP like to patrol the interstate with a Helicopter I like the opening in my roof to look up and see if there is a Bear in the air when I run the upper gears. Of course the other half likes it..... She thinks it cool when we are parked at inspiration point and she sees stars. LOL!!!

Not. My M5 slides the sunroof under the top, not over the top. That's what I'm talking about.

Dave

Thanks for mentioning that "observation feature". I also do that on Interstate 5, it helps surprises.
