Newspaper will not damage tint but some glass cleaners will. I can't remember exactly which ingredient damages it but saw it on one of the detailing threads.

I have owned a window cleaning company for over 10 years. Newspaper and vinegar will leave a film on your glass over the years that becomes more and more difficult to clean. The glues and inks from the paper build up on the glass. I have cleaned many old ladies houses who use newspaper and vinegar and they're all the same. Sticky and gross windows.

You're better off with just water and a few DROPS of soap, though this isn't the ideal solution either.

I use a mixture of rainx, windshield washer fluid and a few drops of actual window cleaning solution (Glass Gleam 4 in my case). This works very well. You can use a squeegee to get a nice streak free look but if you use a clean cloth, you'll be just as well off. The rainx additive allows you to then go back over the dry windows with a dry cloth for touchup.

:: invisible glass is just like rain-x... you can get this cheap if you buy "Invisible Shield" or similar. Should run about $7/pint.

Amonia is what damages tint.Amonia is in regular windex .
