I don't know if anyone else got to this, didn't feel like reading all the comments, but...

It is an intentional design. If someone wants to get into your car, they will, period. Car manufacturers make it moderately easy to break in to reduce the amount of damage needed to be done to the vehicle. Its really just the illusion of security. That's all Americans want anyway.

Got in my car and glove box was wide open and when I turned the car on I got a message saying theft attempted. So I don't know if they was trying to steal the car but ran off when the alarm came on or they was just trying to grab whatever they could out of the car. I attached a pic of how they got in I don't know if this happened to anyone before, but it crazy how doing this allows the doors on a 20k car to just open up.

All that was missing from my car was some cologne. maybe they really needed some smell good.
This annoyed me more than I know it should have.

Regardless, I'm glad the criminals only got what they did and didn't take the whole vehicle. Still an unfortunate situation. Hope you get everything fixed up like new in short order.

About ten years ago, my brother in law had a Geo Metro convertible and lived in a bad neighborhood. He had his radio stolen 3 or 4 times and never locked his car. After the second radio was stolen he never even bothered to call the cops anymore. He just put another ten dollar Wal Mart radio in and went on his way. The first time they stole his radio, the cop asked why he didn't lock his doors. He said, It's either that, or they cut my top. The cop said, good point! don't lock your doors...

They meaning the criminal or criminals. I remember the video from drivers ed with the guy in the backseat waiting for you with a knife if you don't always remember to check before starting your car.

This can happen as well
