EU? European?

US Gallon is different for all other gallons... Unless you specifically calculate US Gallon per Mile.

Since the computer is calculating an average, it's best to reset the gauge as little as possible to get the best (most accurate) reading over time. 100 miles isn't enough.

My calculations match the computer - about 24.5 mixed [there's a lot of stop/go because of construction on my commute right now]. Have seen 30mpg at 65mph during an extended trip, but above that speed the efficiency goes down a little. City is close to 20mpg. I tend to mash the pedal once or twice during the drive for merging.

Should note that's with premium 93 octane gas. Was seeing 23mpg with 87 octane.

NONE of this is exact though, would need to put some effort into it to get verifiable numbers, and I just don't care enough to do that.

1) - UK gallons are bigger than silly little US gallons:
1 UK Imperial Gallon = 4.55 litres
1 US Liquid Gallon = 3.79 litres

This probably makes a little difference.

I'm using the iPhone ROADTRIP App and have done since I got my Camaro in March 2012.
It is set to UK Gallons & Miles. It is spot-on correct.

But as you say, UK to USA Gallons to be considered.
http://www.unitjuggler.com/convert-f...gimperial.html

30.30 MPG UK = 25.25 MPG USA

I just picked up my 14 ss saturday and drove it 300 miles home with cruise on 75 and the best i got was 23. When I pulled into the drive way it said 22.3. Ill have to do a hand calcutaion when I fill back up to verify what it is saying.

I usually reset it at every fill-up. This particular trip I reset it as soon as I got on the interstate and knew I would be driving a couple hours at a constant speed without stopping.

With around town driving I average 21-25 depending on how much I play with it.

FYI: Your Owner's Manual states "Avoid driving at any one constant speed, fast or slow" during the 1,500 mile break in period.

A lot of people ignore the break-in period recommendations, but I figure they must be there for a reason. Check your manual, if interested.

Best we ever got on the highway with cruise set at 79 was about 24 mpg, and the life-long average is about 18.1 - 18.2 combined. I find it hard to believe that anyone is getting 28 out of their SS. As someone said above, if GM could get this, they would make a big deal out of it.
