I did, I am not trying to hide anything. I am trying to make this apparant and I am also not trolling anyone. I a brutally honest type of guy (prior Marine Corps) The video and the original pst is completely legit. There is no need for me to make anything up, as I care for this community and do not want to see it happen again. But the sign is fixed and my car is almost all the way fixed, which is great. I am not even sure if GM is going to do anything about it and partially do not care if they do. I just wanted to make it clear that this issue is an actual issue, and I think it is all dependant on the circumstances. None of this was meant to be rude nor humorous, although some seem to think it is, or some just call BS. I surely hope nobody dies/has died because of this.

Hey man , Maybe you are legit. We got no way of knowing. You do have to admit though that at this juncture with the recall and all that your story is prime target for scrutiny amongst a lot of DIY'er kind of guys. Whatever the case...I do hope all turns out well for you and you're not overly offended by a few jabs. Just take it all with a grain of salt.

I have had other cars shut off (stall) on me, not my Camaro, and I just put it in neutral and started it back up within a few secs.

However I believe the guy. Seems like some are putting a lot of energy into making this something that is not.

Hey LukeB, On a lighter note, I'm curious if you've received your recall letter from GM yet on the fob issue? I haven't.

My G35's engine blew and the computer shut it off when I was going over 100 miles an hour, I lost most of my braking ability but I could still steer so everything was okay. Try steering a car with 100% electric power steering with the ignition turned off, it does not do very much at all, it feels like steering with the wheel lock mechanism on. Oh well, I will post results when I find out from GM on the topic, and let you all know how it goes.

Nope, my mom called me last week to tell me that she saw it on the news, and to get it checked out since I wrecked my car because of it.

10-4... Hope all goes well. I might even take my wife's car out to an empty parking lot one time at a slow speed and shut it off on purpose just to test the steering and brakes just in case we were to lose power for any other reason besides hitting the fob with our knee.

I am 6'3" and don't have any issue's being near the ignition either.

Question: I am not sure I understand the whole recall thing. When I bought my car a few weeks back I couldn't "officially" sign for it because of the recall and the dealership not having the new keys. I drove it off the lot anyway. But when they got the new keys a week later, all they did was take the key that was attached to the FOB off...and attach a full key to the FOB. I don't understand what that fixes anyway since you can bump a key with your knee as easily as you can bump a FOB.

Fixing the car is easy... it's the hurt pride issue I would have after my wife made fun of me that would pose a problem.

shit man sorry to hear. hopefully you can get it taken care of quick. if he is comfortable driving in such position no one should fault him for it. i know first hand. im only 5'11 but sometimes i cram myself up against the wheel and drop the wheel onto my knees. why? cuz i can. people stare and they laugh at me. but when ive picked up my parts and used the maro, ive had no choice but to drive trex style. i dont have someone with a pickup i can reliably count on. i think there is more to this than is being told. some mercs ive worked on have different angle for the ignition switch. maybe design over sight or not taking into effect that people are getting taller, wider and heavier. someone mentioned there should be an interrupter or safety switch that should prevent the car from turning off when vehicle is in gear and above 5miles an hr. is that even possible?
