Don't double park... One day some s***head will go overboard.
I have never done it, but it sure is tempting to key or send a cart into a car taking up 2 spaces (but never to a Camaro!) because it just screams arrogance. Usually it's some prick in a BMW or a huge ass truck whose owner's d*** is inversally proportional in size to his jacked up truck.

Ditto. I work with a guy who owns three vettes, and is a notorious double-parker. He straddles the white parking line thereby taking up two normal parking spots.

He actually did get the 'Fyou' keyed into this vette at a strip mall!

It really doesn't help to drive a car like a vette and double-park. Just invites this kind of thing.

Personally, I park further out with one side next to a curb or planter. I am not obsessive about it though. Sometimes I do - sometimes I don't.

ain't that the truth!

You definitely do not want to take up 2 spaces where parking is scarce or you just might come back to a vandalized car.

I have the same problem. Very large parking lot with thousands of cars (Government facility). I will be parking out in the boonies.

One piece of advice: DO NOT TAKE TWO SPOTS. Many years ago I repainted my car ('66 Mustang) and parked it at the end of the parking lot far, far away from any cars and angled it across two spots. Someone keyed the car. Another time, someone in a piece of junk drove up to me as I walked across the parking lot and said, "So, you are telling the rest of us that we don't know how to drive?"

when i go to the mall/gym i always park all the way at the end. and you can tell the difference that "enthusiasts" park further away. i prefer to park further away because i like to think that since the "enthusiasts" seem to watch out for their own cars, they also watch out more for other cars. the other day i got out of the gym and another speed3 was parked right next to mine

try to find another nice car and park next to it, they are less likely to fling the doors open and give you a door ding. Or get magnetic door ding protectors.

I like to park within view of wherever i am if possible, so as close as i can....that way it doesnt take too long to get to the person who hit it so i can freakin kill them (i have PTSD documented so i can get away with 1 good killing!)

All of this is killing me! What do we do, just not drive the damn thing. Maybe not even buy it! ahhhh! I'm gunna park close and buy touch up paint! Better than a shattered glass, and hope the idiots who decide to park next to me will know how to park and pull out. Hit and runs scare me most.

Thumbs up

Man, reading this thread is killing me. I want to voice my opinion, but I think it's better left unsaid. One of the reasons why my Camaro goes NO WHERE if I have to park. Just out for a cruise or no drive at all, which is mostly the case.
My daily driver Dodge Ram, that bad boy takes up 2 spaces right next to the island in the parking lot way down back.

Every car Ive ever owned has had something happen to it eventually that no one claimed. Except the ones I didnt drive much.

Even had someone knock one of my bikes over once, they were nice enough to pick it back up, but didn't stick around.

Its inevitable, I just try to park where it wont get door dings and the rest just deal with it when it comes.

This is why I'm keeping my '06 Impala. I have the luxury of treating my new SS as one of my antique/collectable cars and will never leave it at a Walmart or shopping ctr, etc. I know a lot of you guys can't do this so I feel for you. There's lots of Idiots out there not to mention dumb women with little kids that just throw their doors open into other parked cars. These new Camaros have no side protection at all, IE: rubber mldgs, etc.
