i know it's not that great. but i'm smiling so much while driving it. it's very hard to drive civilized in that car....with the NPP i'm always giving it some revs.. it's just too much fun.

my ol' 2002 trans am ws6 was far more efficient; 800lbs less and little ls1 pulled hard.
but now she's gone amd my SS is my pride&joy.
the gas that i burn today ,may cost higher tomorrow.

we had an '01 WS6 prior to this car. We averaged about 20 MPG combined (about 2 more than the 1LE). What were yo getting in your '02?

With the cam I averaged 22 on an 850 mile drive. I average around 17-18 normally which I think is great for a car with this much power. and its more fun to get 18mpg and drive a sweet car than get 35mpg in a little hoopdie

my 02, was a 6 speed.k&n filter only pretty much stock .i was doing 22mpg.,i one time hit 26! it was a record!150 miles and cruise control at 65-68mph

now the 1LE is avg.19.6 mpg .that's the computer tells/show me.i knew the camaro was going to sip a lot more due that it's big like a tank! anyway,
pretty shure, i'll bump it up to 20-22?? too..i just have to control that pedal...

Maybe I am in the minority, but my Camaro is my fuel-sipping "economy car"! I am ecstatic by the average mileage I get. I am averaging just over 20 mpg. My daily driver Tahoe is averaging 14ish on the exact same routes and I drive the Camaro waaaay more aggressively.

I'm at about 2600 miles and drive my car mostly in combo driving. Perhaps 65% hwy/35% city driving. I pretty much always stay in the 18-19 mpg range. And thats checking via the fill up and divide the gallons into it method, though my computer estimate is usually with in 1/2mpg or so. I even got 18.5mpg on the tank that I got dyno tuned on. No complaints here.
Anyways, I'm totally tickled with the mpgs. My 1LE replaced my 2 wheel drive V6 Nissan Frontier, which coincidentally got almost the exact same gas mileage. That Frontier I had modded a fair amount to get it to the 325hp(crank) and 14.1 in the 1/4 range.
But now enters my 1LE. After I added a few mods like headers, hiflows, CAI, etc., I am still getting the same MPG as my truck, BUT gained 2 cylinders, about 175 horsepower, and about 1.5 seconds in the 1/4. Plus I have just a slight handling advantage in my 1LE
Oh, and the looks....Sweet!
AWESOME JOB CHEVY - I LOVE MY 1LE!!!!!!!!!!

Drove from NJ to FLA and back and averaged over 24 MPG with over 600 HP at the crank.

Also on a flat road @ 50 mph I see over 30 mpg. Stop and go driving is under 20 of course.

I am happy with that. It may be your 1LE is not broken in yet.

The numbers add up. With our driving styles / driving environment, you get about 2 MPG better than I do in both cars. Thanks for the feedback.

get a cat back and CAI and you should see some improvement. Hell a catback alone shaves 30+ pounds

I'm a lil over 9k and I'm averaging 18.9 MPG on a 15 mile commute on mixed roads and military base traffic. Haven't done any fuel economy mods yet either. My summer vacation I was averaging 25- 26.7 MPG mostly highway. I guess maybe I don't have the lead foot I thought I did.
