my justification is that I don't blow money on senseless crap like drugs, tobacco, alcohol, gambling, etc. I am far from rich and I am pretty sure I am one of the lowest earners on the site, sans the ones that have parents "giving" them the cars. I work hard for my money and it is my one indulgence. I work in the financial industry and I am very frugal with my spending. there are a lot more people out there that could afford the SS Camaro if they wanted to. some just aren't disciplined enough to make it happen!

Shit after shopping for a used ss at the likes of 22-25k. This thread has me looking into what a new ss would cost me out right. I got a friend who may be able to get me a gm discount If that helps me at all?
I assume the irs would be a better piece than the first few years? More power maybe?

Mine was a bit under 20k without a trade in, but since all the mods everyone thinks it has to be a 40k car
I've spent about 6-7k on the car in mods, that's what's expensive

New here and a new camaro ss owner as well. I got my 2013 ss with 881 miles last week for 24k. But reading all these "deals" you guys are getting I'm now wondering if I got a good deal or a great deal?? Mines a 6 speed with HID head lights 20inch rims and a "dual mode exhaust"? Black on black, brembo brakes. So what do you guys say? Did I get a good deal or did I get hosed?

I paid about 20k for my 14 1ls about 4 months ago. I didn't get a ton of discounts or didn't even need my parents to co sign( I was 22 at the time). Put 10k in cash down. I work as a server. I'm not as young as some of you guys on here but I saved up my hard earned tips for 2 years, some people still assume my parents just bought the at for me I just laugh and say discipline and hard work go a long way.

I get it all of the time. I traded in my SRT8 Jeep for my Camaro 2 years ago and a lot of my distant family is under the impression that I sell drugs... Little do they know, I am a chemical engineer. I'm sure i'd be driving something a lot more expensive than my Camaro if I were a drug dealer.

lol most any bank will finance on a NEW CAR just depends on how much you want or can afford to pay... I had a frind think I was paying 900 a month for mine.... cause that is what she was quoted for a RS UH no.. she said yeah... well my credit is not that great..

Yup. I was in a 7-11 this morning getting a Monster and the guy in front of me bought over $50 in lottery tickets. I watched him walk out and get into his smoking clunker.

That said, the Camaro is hardly a high priced car... Perhaps it depends upon the people surrounding, but I'm not 'rich' and I don't consider the cost of the Camaro to have been that out of line or extravagant (and I bought outright, no loan). Other people smoke, drink, gamble, eat out all the time, etc. Money's tight for them, I suppose.
