My car seemed slow at 1st. But at 500 miles she got peppier and at 1,000 same & so on. Biggest jump I noticed was at 2,000 miles on her. She just got mean! Like someone else had posted some people I think believe there car isn't going fast when you are actually moving at good pace! I took 2 friends for a ride around 2,000 miles and got on her. Let off when I hit 105mph and asked my buddy who riding shotgun so what you think? He said pretty nice get up to round 70mph. And 3rd guy riding in back slapped him and said how bought 105mph. Dude said your kidding & looked over and we still cruising at bout 90mph and dude was in disbelief that car was riding so smooth.

What were you guys driving before this car, mine seems very fast. Fast enough to kill you if you are not very careful

Another thing to keep in mind is if you are driving/breaking-in the car at an easy pace and after a few hundreds or 1k + miles, you expect the engine to be preppier and wonder why it doesn't feel different, that would be because the comp never learned your performance-driving habit. I have 250 miles on mine and I always try to drive it so the 1-4 shift doesn't come on but I haven't romped on it yet, at least not past 4k rpm in any gear. When it has about 500 miles then I will start to let the needle climb more at each shift in a more consistent basis to start the learning process. At 1k miles, it should be pretty set and time to play now and then.

you have to run at least 3 tanks of 93 to get it back to where it should be for that one tank of 87

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the fly-by-wire ECU is very sluggish/conservative when it comes to throttle response for the sake of maintaining fuel economy; i.e. it doesn't have the snappiness of a cable-actuated throttle. This could account for the car feeling relatively "slow". Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Mine too! L99. Over 90 degrees with hot tires and I can break traction WITH traction control on from a standstill with just the throttle.

+1 The pcm has 2 octane tables, high and low. When the pcm hears spark knock from the knock sensors it reverts to the low octane table. I've read the tables on my stock LS3 (before the maggie) and the low octane table was 14 degrees total timing less than the high octane table. The LS engines are very timing dependent. It will take 2 or 3 tanks of 93 octane before the pcm will revert back. When it does you WILL know it. The NBS truck octane table are the same way. Put 93 in your NBS trucks and wait for them to come alive. It works. then all you do is tune that new 6l80e and those trucks will spin the stock 20's!

in california we only have 91 octane, unless you put 100 octane racing fuel but that is very expensive. Maybe there are some places to buy 93 octane in socal but I haven't seen any, certainly not a widespread thing.

I learned that the hard way.
