In heavy bumper to bumper traffic, just shift around 1200 - 1400 rpms into second.

I've got the Apex one in mine ( 1st mod I did when car was 3 days old). Now whenever I see the DIC display showing me to shift from 1st to 4th ...I tell it to go F**K yourself !

Also, the solenoid is almost on top of the transmission. There is also a reverse lockout solenoid lower down on the side. Make sure you don't install in that location by mistake. It also helps if you have hands like the guy in the Burger King commercial a while back. It's pretty tight in there. It is really easy and I installed one in my 2010 SS, then later had it tuned out anyway. I had the dealer install one in the ZL1 when I went in for my first oil change.
Took me 10 mins total...but then again, I have a lift in my garage! LOL. Even stood straight up to change it, not on my back! 😃

Took it to a local repair joint. A mechanic threw it up on a lift and in 5 minutes my skip shift eliminator was installed. In return, I let him drive around the block. He loved it.
