Thanks for the pics. I had the dealership call yesterday and offer to sell me a black on black and I said "no" since I was waiting for my CGM. But knowing my dealer is way back ordered even that was a hard decision.

seriously why do people do that. clay baring the car that early will just end up with faded paint down the line. also i don't think using the dish soap and clay bar was good idea. for some reason i think the chemicals are bad cause i know from what i was told at my body shop if you want to remove wax use dish soap. so yeah but it does look good

Clay barring the car that early get's rid of all the rail dust from it's journey to your dealership. Clay barring does not remove paint or clearcoat at all... it will in no way fade the paint. Maybe if you rolled the clay in rocks and then used it...

And you answered your own question why he used dawn. It removed all the previous wax (applied by the dealership so I guess all their cars will fade too), so the zaino had a nice clean slate to work off of.

They tell you at Zaino to wash the car with dawn to get the old wax off first. Then take a cap full of their car wash in a spray bottle filled with water to use as a lubricant when using the clay bar. The other products go hand-in-hand for a supurb finish Z-2 pro and Z-7 detailer or the more expensive Z-8 show shine. I've used Zaino for 9 years. It's the best. You won't be disappointed. The Z-7 detailer make the shine deeper IMO.

Thank you, well said. Claying the car will have no negative effect short or long term on the paint/clearcoat and in fact may improve longevity of the paint.

Thank you fellow Zainoholic, it truly is the best.

I guess using zaino on a clear-bra isn't a good idea? Oh well, I'll do the rest of the car instead and use what I have left on my Tahoe.

I don't think I would clay the clear bra, but using Zaino on the clear bra will work just as well as paint. I had a clear bra on my 07 Black C6 and used Zaino on clear Bra all the time. Zaino does not have any white reside when dried so you dont get build up on the edges.

I put Zaino on the stripes as well, there was a thread here somewhere that Sal Zaino was talking about Zaino on the stripes. They look great and Zaino has a UV blocker I think 4 or something. My stripes look much better with Zaino on them.
