My old craptastic LT1 with optispark didn't mind the CC306. Tuned that one myself. 4L60E was easier to tune it seems. This 6 speed is interesting. I might convert to a 4L80E at some point. Depends on how the 6L80E likes the torque.

Yeah. Just get the opti shift or pcs controller and you'd be set.

This just goes to show you how the term driveability means very different things to many different people. That's not to say the cam of the OP couldn't be made to be more drive able but it just reminds me how one persons "drives like stock" is another persons nightmare. Reminds me of a old friend with a built 6.0 4th gen with heads, intake, stall, drag shocks, bigs and littles and a big nasty cam. He asked me to take a spin and I asked him how does it drive on the street? His reply was one of those drives like stock. Well, for me it couldn't be further from the truth. He drove that car daily and I would have found it annoying to just drive to the track. It was a mid 10's car and faster than anything I had ever driven but man did it suck in day to day street driving.

Agreed. I love DD a spool in the rear end but others would hate it.

The driveability tuning for L99s is for sure tricky. Personally speaking, I had to drive my car a bit to get a feel for it.

Juiced what did you make before/after?

If you are not driving it already, I think you'll like the near stock idle of the LS9, check out this video a guy did (LS3 vs LS9)...

I've been driving the hell out of it. Put about 400 miles on it so far. Car is missing some of the mid range power from before and after. The top end doesn't seem too far off. Running well if you ask me. I like sticking with GM parts. lol

You will have plenty of midrange with the lsa blower. Traction is more of a problem. You will love it. Adm will make it work and it will run hard and drive like stock.

The video of the LS9 cam sounds awesome. If it's the only change made was the cam Id be all over it. But it almost sounds like the cats or headers were changed.

But either way it has a nice tight deep idle and I'd be stoked if mine sounded like that.

Are you selling the GMPP heads?

Phil, I've tuned that same setup about 40 times lol. I wanted to log the car in person to see/ feel what it was doing because I never once saw it die or even close to dying on a log. We did battle some cam surge. But when he put the ls9 cam in, it doesn't have the vararam now either.

Quite possibly it was still a calibration concern, who knows at this point. But it's a common combo I deal with daily.

GMPP heads and LS9 cam are staying on the car with the LSA blower.

The Vararam stayed with the ls9 cam.

It leaves when the new LSA blower goes on.
