I have flat black stripes on gloss black and love them. Get lots of compliments. They are subtle, just on the left fender. Some people don't even notice them right away. I will be adding TSW nurburgring rims this spring which should bring quite a bit of it together. Also lots of 3m clear bra on the front of the car an is tough to see on black if people are considering it. When done professionally, practically invisible. (The splitter in the pic below has more then half covered in clear bra).
