Ah man that 417 and that Z/28 flowtie. Was it hard to install that grille with the flowtie ?

How much of a difference are you getting from the 417 motor ?
and what made you decide that engine vs the LS7 ?

It is still a nice car.

The grill wasn't hard, it was more of a pain. Removing the front fascia is pretty straight-forward, it's just pulling the original grill out of the fascia that is a pain in the butt.

I dyno'd at 537/474 on Saturday night. Motor is low compression, built for boost. I was getting 470hp from stock cubes with cam and headers. (stroker also has PRC heads and FAST 102 intake.) I am pleased with the power it makes. I am changing wheels and tires so that I can actually use the power instead of just spinning.

stroker was cheaper, and I am to understand that the LS3 is more reliable than the LS7.

Looks great man. I love all the yellow added in there. Not too much but just enough . Hey how is the suspension stuff working out for you? Keep up the awesome work and let us know if you need anything else for your ride .

No I don't know actually. There are a few people here that have done the LS7 swap or have either done a LSA conversion as well . I was asking because the 427 is the most common conversion. But yea I can't wait to see some dyno sheets with this engine.

Thank you! I love the yellow. I wanted to do something different than red. (everyone seems to do red.) Suspension stuff is great. My brother and I installed everything several months back, very pleased with it.

I'd say between the suspension stuff, my clutch and components, and the FORE system and Alky Control system you can consider Jordan's kid's first semester at college on me.

I haven't seen many LS7 swaps, and really don't know much about an LSA conversion. I started reading about 416-418 strokers and thought they would work best for me. I plan on having turbos and all the supporting parts installed this month. I'd really like to have the car on a dyno early Dec. I also can't wait to see how it turns out.

Here's a motor only dyno from last Sat. It cuts off at 6500rpm but the motor will do 7k. They said it would hit 550 at 7k.

Thank you! You probably won't be. Aside from pulling out of Phastek's parking lot last Sat and the occasional hwy on-ramp, I drive like an old lady.

Thanks man, I'm really happy with how it's coming together. Check back in a few weeks. I'll update the thread again once the turbos are on the car.

The car is currently in the shop (dropped off about Thanksgiving) for the big upgrades. I am hoping to have it back in the next week or two.

Here's everything that's being added:
ZL1 driveline

From JDP (very great service and patient with my dumb questions!)
Mantic twin disk clutch
FORE innovations triple pump system
Alky Control Meth Injection system with a trunk tank

From Moreno Motorsports (also very helpful, and great pricing!)
Hellion twin turbo top mount Eliminator system. Kit included 62mm ball bearing turbos. I ordered what was needed to convert the car to e85. id1700 injectors and all the supporting goodies.

I'm very excited to get the car back!!

Al Moreno and Jeff at Hellion helped me out a lot.
