In the owner's manual it says that I should have a button to turn on the front fog lights but it's not there. I have the dial to adjust the lights but no button. Does anyone know anything about that?
It is because you have an SS and not a v6

you'll have to forgive me guys, I am 6'2" and pretty cozy in the cabin with the door shut. The steering wheel spokes on this car comepletely obscure the light switch dial from where I sit. Its pretty farkin simple once I was able to locate the switch..............LOL. Do I get an asshat award or what?.....LOL!

No fog lights with RS, with RS you get DRL's, they are not fog lights at all.
I guess that depends on someone's definition of fog lights then.

To me, a fog light is a light located very close to the ground. Whether or not you can control the operation of that fog light is an entirely different matter

you can keep the automatic feature on by clicking it to the LEFT, then to the RIGHT. it will turn off DRLs, turn on HALOs, and then kick in your HIDs when the sun goes down.

LS/LT trims w/out the RS package:

No emblems in the grill or rear deck, just the bowties.
Headlights are standard halogen lighting.
Fog lights standard on LT models and up. Fog lights operated by push-button in the center of the headlight "dial"
Daytime Running Lights are the same bulbs as the turn signals (IIRC)

LT models with the RS package:

Red RS Emblem added in driver-side of front grille and passenger's side of trunk lid
Fog lights act as the Daytime Running Lights
Headlights are Projection HID with Halos
Fog lights cannot be turned on while headlights are on.
Headlight dial does NOT have a push-button for the fog lights

SS model without RS package:

White SS emblem added in driver-side of front grille and passenger's side of trunk lid
Headlights are standard halogen lighting.
Fog lights operated by push-button in the center of the headlight "dial"
Daytime Running Lights are the same bulbs as the turn signals (IIRC)

SS models with the RS package:

Red SS Emblem added in driver-side of front grille and passenger's side of trunk lid
Fog lights act as the Daytime Running Lights
Headlights are Projection HID with Halos
Fog lights cannot be turned on while headlights are on.
Headlight dial does NOT have a push-button for the fog lights
non-RS cars use the headlights on a lower voltage for the DRLs

1. Any Camaro above an LS has fog lights, whether it's an RS or not!

3. READ the owners manual. It's all there.
Some time this group wonders about you.....reminds me an old saying my Grandother taught me......"Better for a fool to keep his mouth shut and let people suspect he is a fool, instead of opening it and removing all doubt".

Just so people aren't confused...

THIS IS NOT TRUE. This would be ideal, and is exactly how I would like them to operate, but they do not work this way in the U.S.

I believe the Canadian cars do this, however, as I believe Hylton said his is like this.

Again, the U.S. cars do not operate this way.

As soon as you click it to the right to turn the halos on, it says on the DIC "Automatic lights off" or something along those lines (don't remember the exact wording). So when you want the HIDs on, you have to manually turn them on, or put it back on "Auto" (turning it to the left).

This was pretty funny reading through all the posts haha. But I do have my answers now so thanks to everyone that posted. Good thing I could get this answered through everyone here rather than go to my dealership because they know nothing. I taught them things about the car... sad

anyways thanks!!

This is a good summation except I would simply state that the RS cars do not have fog lights, they have DRL's instead of saying "fog lights act as" or "fog lights cannot be turned on..".

As DDustiNN eluded to, all Canadian cars with the RS package can run the DRL's AND the halos together. Canadian RS cars MUST have either the DRL's or the headlights on at all times (no choice). Canadian RS cars will turn on the headlights and turn off the DRL's automatically at dusk, regardless of whether your light switch is set to off or automatic.
