The kid's writing is understandable, stop the nonsense of picking at his spelling or typos. Those that are busting his chops may be better off on the "Spelling Bee Forums" with all the scholars. The repairs look very good from what I can see. For a young man to have the insight, ability to plan a project and see it through is commendable. Many kids these days just sit and wait to see what their parents give them. All of my first cars needed repairs and paint but they were worth it in the end. That car even though it may have a rebuilt or salvage title, is worth quite a bit more than $10k. Nice job Aaron.

I said it last week on another thread, and I'll say it again: If you believe that spelling and grammar does NOT matter, try writing like that on a job application. Let me know how you like the unemployment line. I'm not here to bust chops or talk down to people, but spelling and grammar says a lot about how a person's intelligence is perceived. Again, no offense to anyone. Carry on.

Makes comment about "kids these days"...
Justifies piss poor writing as "understandable"...

Does not compute.

Sweet car though.

weight, wut r u sayin?

your tellin me that I need to learn to right proper b4 i can get a job?

Unfortunately, I have seen fine examples of horrific spelling, punctuation, and grammar in the corporate world. I work for one of the world's largest companies, and I must say that it is immensely irritating to receive an email from someone with a proper education from a top tier college and have them use poor grammar. It's even worse when they are in a very visible leadership role.

Right or wrong, rude or nice....the way folks perceive you can be affected GREATLY if you have poor grammar. Perhaps it could have been phrased a bit differently, but the message still should have been sent. Kid's got a long future ahead of him. If he can pull this car off from a nasty wreck, into that good lookin' car he's got now, he would DEFINITELY be very well served putting that same effort into the education he is receiving.

College isn't a must, but no matter what you do in life, 99% of the time clear (and effective!) communication is essential, be it written or spoken.

EDIT: all that aside, OP, that car turned out great. I dig the look, and at 16, you're light years ahead of my first car. It was an 86 1/2 Nissan pickup. AC was busted and didn't work, wasn't even equipped with power steering, and [gasp!] I actually had to use the key to unlock it, and manually roll down my windows! Had an AM radio/cassette player combo that was pretty sweet until I got tired of the same 3 cassettes over and over...You did great bringing that thing back to life!!!

Like others have mentioned, resale value will take a hit. Post some pictures when you get a chance and enjoy your car!
The car was imspected and is now a rebuild salvage

1st: Your car looks great! Good job on the research and effort in the repairs.

2nd: Please listen to the grammar advice. I was a corporate hiring manager for 14 years, and I threw almost 60% of resumes in the garbage based on grammar errors. That's right, I never even cared what else was on them.

This is one kind of salvage I can understand. You basically stole the car and repairs were reasonable. Hopefully whoever repaired it for you did a good job. If you know exactly how well it was rebuild, there is nothing wrong with having a $10K rebuild Camaro!

Good job!

Congrats on the car. I bought my Camaro at 16 also. Your ride looks amazing, and that's a great idea of finding one to repair. Looks like you saved a large chunk of money and you got some awesome ZL1 parts added. Just thought I'd let you know there will always be some hate on us younger drivers from a few other members, but don't let it get to you. We all drive Camaros after all.
