I have the same question as Boreas as my Camaro will be delivered around mid winter, I too will order from Tirerack and was considering their recommended 17" Wheel + Blizzak DM-V1 package, or 18" wheel Scorpion Ice and Snow package.

The 17" + Blizzak package comes is about $50 less than the 18" + Scorpion package.

Any opinions on which package would be better?

I am personally getting mine rust protected by this device they attach to the car to prevent rust formation. It was an option to add at the dealer at the end along with extended warranty (which I got also).

My dealer didn't offer me such a device, what is it and how much was it? I took the rustproofing (some wax they put inside, I think) and the kind of sealer they put underneat (as well as the extended warranty).

you can get the rust proof from your Canadian tire.

Sitting here on the westcoast and mine will definately NOT be seeing winter. As soon as the weather turns, it will be in the garage. No for salt and absolutely no chances on the sand they put on the roads here which by the way is not sand but small boulders.

You know what? I can't remember what it's called but it's a device that runs a charge throughout the car or something. I'm so bad I don't even remember how much I spent on it. I am taking a stab when I say about $600? It's gonna warranty the car against rust proofing for life. Then there's also the added bonus that I can remove it and put it on another car but that voids the warranty...non-transferrable. But they said it works so well, you wont' need the warranty. I'll post more when I finally get my Camaro.

I'm getting mine from Bob Myers in Ajax, ON.

Ok guys, I got the info from my dealership. The module is called Platinum Shield Protection and it's a "corrosion control module" provided by First Canadian Insurance to my dealership. You can google it. Looks like somebody else on the forums was asking about it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23544 with no answer. I figure if you're going to drive it in the winter (or even excessive rainy weather all the time)...hmm come to think of it, if you live by the ocean and have thick salt air possibly corroding your car, I think it's a good idea.

Fresh oil change just before winter and stacked up in the garage until spring.

I called Esso...they don't know of any unlimited car wash prepay/gift card plan. I left a message with Sunoco as they don't have any operators. Is this in Ontario?
