Love the videos and the idea on the rear belly pan - I have been thinking of something like this too...

Wish some one made a functional rear diffuser....

Thanks racesloth! I have the rear pan done I just need to get the rivnuts in for the front mount and I'll have it mounted. Tried the diy methods I found with little success. I'm just gonna have to buy the tool, but I'll use it more when I do the zl1 belly pan.

As far as a functional rear diffuser Aero Sport Concepts is making one that mounts to the 12-13 zl1 rear diffuser. I would love to do it but with the price of the zl1 diffuser conversion on top of the ASC piece it'll be a pricey mod. Should look pretty amazing though considering what the 14-15 model looks like.

Finally ordered the rivnut tool, which will be here on Thursday so I should have the rear pan installed Thursday evening. I will make sure to take some decent pictures and update when finished.

Here is another session from back in July. This time I had my bluetooth OBDII connection to get better data from the car.

Here is a video from NCM during the only dry session of the day. The yellow car in front of me has a little scare at turn 12 about 10:20 in.

Thanks guys! It's been fun and is definitely turning out better than I originally thought. Still have quite a bit I'd like to do.

Ok I got the nutsert/rivnut tool in yesterday and was able to get the rear belly pan mounted.

Nutsert/Rivnut tool from Amazon:

The holes in the subframe where the rivnuts are going:

And finally the aluminum belly pan I cut out mounted on the car:

Now for the crappy update. While I was under the car working on the rear belly pan I noticed something didn't look quite right with the right axle.

Called around for 1LE axles, but they are on backorder and I need one now due to track weekend coming up so I just got the stock replacement. Will be here no later than Monday. Then I have to get the axle replaced, get an alignment, flush the brakes, and have her all ready to go for next weekend. I have a lot to do now.

So I replaced the half shaft last week hoping the weather wouldn't be as bad and we'd still have a track weekend. Well we didn't get so lucky and had to reschedule. I guess I should've waited and done 1le shafts, but they were on backorder so this will do for now.

I will say the hardest part was getting the stupid axle nut off. Once some heat from a torch was applied it came off much easier. Just removed the bolts for upper control arm, toe arm, trailing arm, the wheel speed sensor, and bolt holding the brake line. After it was out of the hub it just took a couple easy tugs and the shaft came out.

I also drained the diff and refilled it with Amsoil severe gear with no additional friction modifier. I'll report back on this after I have a chance to go driving in the hill country to see if the diff locks better in corners or not.

Hey Stone, finally stumbled upon your build thread. Very nice, I see a lot of mods I need to add to my list.

What is your report on the Amsoil severe gear? I am about due to change mine.

Hey man sorry I haven't been on in awhile. I didn't notice any tangible difference with the gear oil, but I'm happy with it.
