Just buy a spare. They are pretty cheap. A "professional" has never installed a chiller or cut a crash bar and they are much less likely to care about how it turns out compared to you. Just do it your self or stick with a normal heat exchanger. IMO

This is also true. Truth is I don't know what I will decide. Heat exchanger is a definite.

You can buy cheap replacement crash bars for as low as $50 or you can grab a genuine GM part for ~$200. Either way, there is no way around it unless you wanted to try routing lines all the way to the trunk. I would think that would be extremely tedious and may result in less than expected performance of the system.

The crash bar really isn't that big of a deal, if you were concerned about the structure you could have it re-boxed after the chiller is installed.

On the flip side most cars with air to air intercoolers simply remove the crash bar all together.

Perhaps work with a local US metal shop to have these crash bars pre-cut to fit your unit and provide them as an option to your customers as a more "plug & play" install? Just thinking out load.....

I should probably point out, I was originally worried about the same thing. But once I removed the nose of the car, I realized that the crash bar really doesn't serve any other purpose than to prevent the push in of the nose itself. The real crash support is in the two mounting points of the crash bar. Those will absorb any front collision more so than the bar itself. Here's a pic to show what i'm talking about. The two squarish openings on either side of the radiator area are the points that will absorb the majority of the impact.

Here is a 1/4 mile run comparison of what our IAT2 looks like without and with the Forced Induction Interchiller. We are spinning the blower very hard.
You should have a look at your timing table and see how much timing is being pulled out without the interchiller.

Ambient was 80.6F
Starting IAT2 was 98.6F without the chiller
Starting IAT2 was 39.2F with the chiller

Peak IAT2 was 174.2F without the chiller
Peak IAT2 was 116.6F with the chiller

Independent before/after interchiller dyno test carried out under controlled conditions.
In the coming month we will be doing another independent before/after dyno test with various media outlets.

I hope you enjoy the video, watch in HD!

Seems like this system would work best without a sc coolant reservoir. A reservoir after the HX/interchiller sitting in the engine bay would heat up slightly before it reached the SC lid. The purpose of the reservoir in theory is to hold more coolant and to allow the addition of ice, easy fill up, etc. But it seems as though it would adversely affect coolant temps with this system. Any input?

Yes, you are correct. The kit comes with a switchable bypass for the H/X for use when you're running the interchiller. When the AC is off, the H/X would work as normal.

We bypass the HX and if you can install a rotofab reservoir or even bigger then that will work even better to.

Our car now has a 6.5L reservoir it is insulated and the temps still get just as low as they did before, and now the peak IAT2 is not as high as we have more volume but also the IAT2 after doing a 1/4 mile run comes back down within 20 seconds.

The cooling effect that this kit provides is great but the price leaves me in debate whether to just go with a HX, Reservoir, and trunk tank for ice. and still come out cheaper on a budget with money for other parts. Very little parts that make a difference with a nice price tag vs the normal what people are going with.
