One second is a huge diffence. Can tell you have never been to a race track of any kind with that statement. It doesn't matter anyhow. Some people are more interested in just looks and fuel economy over performance. There is nothing wrong with that. The OP should not feel the need to justify his decision to anyone.

one important thing I learned on my way growing up is don't care too much about what people think of you. No one lives your life for you and no one could really understand what you feel inside.
Drive your car and enjoy every single second of it, life is too short to care too much

rontammy0, you might want to read my original post again. All I said is that IF a guy with a V8 feels the urge to give someone shit about having "only" a V6, he does it, so he can feel better about him self.

I never said all V8 owners fall into that category. In all reality, most do not.

You drive a car that's nicer than a good portion of the others on the road, V6 or not. Us V8 guys just like tossing a light-hearted jeer every now and then, but very few of us ever mean anything bad by it. No reason at all to feel ashamed man!

No you shouldn't be ashamed....quit the contrary; you should be proud of the fact that in your way you are honoring and paying tribute to your father. Beyond that, there is nothing wrong with owning a V6, especially these days; your 'little V6' puts out more HP then most V8s of a decade or two ago and it gets better gas mileage. As an every day driver, it's the right/smart choice for most people. Also, the average person can't tell (and doesn't care) what motor you have under the hood. Lastly, you got the car for you and for your own reasons; who the heck cares what anyone else says or thinks .... if they like it, good, if not, so be it.

There are going to be groups of people that will try to put you down no matter what, even if you got a V8. You should see the automatic vs manual fights.

No. It only matters whether you are satisfied with your car.
