I have never, ever, driven over the posted speed limit. Even on nearly abandoned country roads, or wide open stretches of highway. I just spent the extra money for a V8 because I like the sound at idle and I think the mail slot looks cool. Really, I would not lie...

i feel like the whole 'shaming' has spread from social media to forums. sad day.
i'm with bknBlk here, everyone bashing better damn well be a saint. because in the 'eyes of the law' going 1mph over the speedlimit is still breaking the law so stop your whining. 'oh wait until you kill someone' 'why don't you down a few beers first next time' 'pedestrians don't have a choice, you do' really? come on now... reallllllly? act like speeding is the end of the world. we all know when there is a SAFE time to do it and when there is not a safe time to do it. "The code is more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules"

True, but don't assume you know that he drives 20 to 45 over "every day or close to it". I think a lot of his comment was tongue in cheek. I give the benefit of the doubt and don't assume he is a wreckless "maniac".

If anyone here has ever lost a loved one to a "maniac" or drunk then you would know what it's like. I have and the pain NEVER goes away, EVER.

old school chevy rodder
|
LOL well he admitted he usually does drive safely and being that it is in the boonies yes I could see getting on it occasionally, its that he did make it sound like he is doing 105 to work ...... I have done some speeding to test the limit of a speedometer or two on wide open roads, but I am talking during the day totally clear and for short distances to get the feel, and frankly our cars feel so good at high speed ......
Better than a old heavy Chevy by far in the safety and handling, still though the point being: at 80 + here where I live unless he was cut a break and if they wanted to camp down it would at least be a ticket for a lot more than what he is looking at so we all should be careful as when you go certain speeds it incrementally goes up with fines and some times it jumps like friggin Puma straight for your throat: or should I say Panther the name they wanted to give our Camaros...., and more than that they can and will cuff and stuff someone for 20 over, bye bye car.... A good way to avoid that is cruise control set at 78.... And yes traffic here will get to around 80 sometimes and I am with you there but hey... That's traveling as conditions warranty and a LEO will know that and the speed limit is 65...general thought is within 7 MPH +72...... safe from harassment usually, and have used my beefed up muscle car to make my point on the freeway because people think their friggin econobox or minivan is a sportscar that should be traveling on balloon tires doing 100 mph and they can weave in and out of traffic like a menace to society....we have all seen them, and nothing is worse than a tailgater. But getting busted is a bummer and coming here to tell about it...something we all have done.... Lol : I remember being stalked by a un marked Chevrolet SUV for miles and miles dusting him repeatedly through traffic while still trying to stay under 80.....and maneuvering because I have a natural healthy paranoia being that I work for a Max security Prison Only to get pulled over by his buddy the state trooper sitting up ahead even though I am just in pace with Friggin Minivan in the fast lane... Because they do target and stalk.... And I paid the whole ticket for 78.....in a 65.. with my daughter knitting in the front seat and the Stupid fish and game officer saying pissed off majorly: Would you have gone that fast if you knew I was cop..... then going back to his job and not wanting to hear any thing really I had to say....as when they are pissed just step off..... I told the state cop hey I was just trying to escape the 'Monster truck" there a few miles back there, ( and well there was about 15 miles ago.....LOL) and in reality after having the damn SUV shadow me for at least five miles.... it might as well have been as I was aware and do not like cars that specifically try to follow you... MOFO... damn stalking makes me paranoid and there is no way the cop on a freeway busy a hell during the day wants to hear any fuggin thing but here officer my license and registration..... when handing him my ID: my state prison ID: what the F is this, my response: Nothing, not : Oh I don't know do you and your wife work with serial killers, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, identity thieves, etc etc every day all day at work? , do I have a right officer to be paranoid where my safety is concerned when being stalked clearly by a big dumb black SUV? No , its a case of STFU.... And take your lumps. at 82 mph though I would have been in some major shizzit most likely on that day and had to take it to court and fight.... for my right .... to party........ And the ticket is like over $260...... just for doing 78....so hey I hear up in the super lib money hungry areas they are really jacking fines sky high.... like Seattle area etc where yes they do Revenue.... I have seen like thirteen cops on the side of the roads in a long cordon miles long waiting to spring on people pulling over everyone for anything they can..... and that was Seattle. Down around here there are some occasional 5 car ticket a thons on the smaller less safe mountain and coastal highways.... SO beat that....... kid knitting in the front seat being stalked and working for corrections in a bright red Camaro in broad day light...
