ABSOLUTELY! IMO, a Camaro w/o the RS package looks dull. The halos and tinted taillights, as well as the painted metal strips on top of the roof, give the car more pizazz. I didn't care for the midnight silver wheels so we opted for the polished aluminum.

when a computer clich at the factory dropped the rs package from mine. I didn't take it because I ordered yellow and couldn't stand the roof ditch moldings not body color.
on your color it would be as bad. The lights really didn't make a diff to me.

My recommendation would be to find a dealer that can show you both so you can see them and make your own decision. You can also look at the difference in the tail lights...which in my opinion are barely different even with the two side by side. If you were to just see one I would doubt you could pick it out that it was/wasn't an RS just based on the tail lens. You can also decide if you're okay with the midnight silver wheels.

To me on an SS it basically comes down to the HID/Halos. Is that worth the $1,200 to you.

Personally...I've got one on order w/o the RS pkg. I actually like the looks of the Hologen light over the Halos. I talked to Spenser's HIDs and for about $400 I can get HID healights, HID foglights, and have them wired so that the foglights always come on with the headlights.

Again this is really going to come down to your opinion but to aswer your original question about how the black drip molding looks with CGM...I wouldn't think it would stand out at all. I bet most people wouldn't notice at all and after time you probably wouldn't pay attention to it either.

No.

I'm one of the few that's going to say NO it's not worth it. I have ordered my 2SS without the RS package. There are other mods that actually do something to make the car go faster that I would much rather spend my money on.

Yes it is, I love the HID;s. When I drive my Monte Carlo at night I really miss them. I think it's worth the price for the HID's alone and when you add in the looks of the halo's it really justifies it.

Yup...do the SS/RS
Just for the record you get the 4 pack gauges on a 2LT/2SS. Not tied in with RS package.

Just something to consider when keeping this car more than a few years...the cost to maintain those cool halo's and HID's. The HID's have mechanical parts (shutters) that can fail and the halo's also have several parts that will one day need replacing.

I think they look awsome...but $1200 ( V8 ) is only the start to maintain that "cool" look for the years you will be driving.

The interior on these vehicles is in my opinion a little lacking, so gettting the RS package is a must. The slight changes that you get with this package really helps the interior look a ton better. JMHO

To further that one of the things that can fail is the ballast.

Here is a good article on how HID's work.

who cares about ditch molding! the Halos and the wheel paint are what you want. i promise...and to answer your question i think its MORE worth it on the SS than the other trims because you already are getting 20's and a spoiler. i LOVE my RS package.
