I don't think Mike will be there this year. I'm pretty sure he is going to a wedding.

And car 315 is going to be crazy fast this year!!!

I don't think we have met. Jeff had told me the after party was the best part of the weekend and I appreciate the invite but will likely head home after the event. Have another racing event that I'm hoping will get rained out Saturday so I can make its rain date on Sunday.

Hey Rick, depending on what is going on with the weather on Saturday I may cancell my reservation at the hotel for Saturday night and come home early.
Hopefully the real weather is different than the forecast.

This...

RtR 2016 Drivers,

A decision has been made and RtR will proceed as planned on Saturday.

Obviously the forecast is not ideal and we understand that this may pose an issue for some of you (I’ve heard that some of your cars have never even seen rain!). Our plan is to run the event as the weather and track conditions permit. While the forecast definitely includes rain, the typical weather patterns at this time of year bring concentrated rainfall in the late afternoon (some of you may recall that the skies opened up not long after the final run last year). Our hope is that this Saturday will be no different and that there will be sufficient dry periods to get everyone out on the track. In the event that we are truly and completely rained out, there will still be a hanger full of food, a parking lot full of amazing cars, and a group of awesome people with something in common.

Pre-registration is still planned for Friday evening starting at 5. As a reminder we will still be running a dress rehearsal (weather permitting of course) and we will draw from those present to participate.

I’ve fielded a few questions about why we can’t run an alternate date (Sunday). While nothing is impossible, there are a variety of factors (including the fact that the venue is an active airport and that it is run entirely by volunteers) that pose logistical challenges to shifting days. Weather is, and will continue to be, the greatest risk to the event’s success.

I’ve also fielded a few questions about refunds. The reason our tickets are non-refundable is because all of the costs of running this event are incurred even if the event doesn’t proceed. Additionally, since Race the Runway is run entirely by volunteers, 100% of the revenues go either to covering the event costs or go to charity. RtR does not profit from this event. Race the Runway is a team of good people committed to running a fun event for a good cause and the weather is something that is well beyond our ability to control.

We hope to see everyone (and clear skies) on Saturday.

Sincerely,

Your Race the Runway Team

Had as much fun on the wet day as a dry one. Got to hang out with good friends, meet some new ones, got three runs in, and drove away without any thing breaking anything! Very successful day! Could have went for a fourth run but decided not to risk it!
Oh ya, got some great shots too, will have some processing to do but did select these right outta the camera:

Thanks for posting some great pictures Jeff.
I will add that Jeff in his 2002 black Camaro was the fastest Camaro at the Runway with a top speed of 231kph in the rain.

Running in the rain was not as crazy as it first seemed. All of the cars ran extremly well.

Sorry we didn't make the after party, I was a little worried about my clutch, and my son had hockey the next morning.

Didn't even realize I was the fastest Camaro, Thanks!

I was estatic that I was faster that my brother-in-law's new Hellcat Challanger With 1000k on the odometer. So we bought him a pet HelloKitty for the car.

Here are the rest of the pictures.
Some good ones with Camaro5 stickers on them...
