Manual for me!

In a car as sexy as the 5th Gen, and it showing its true demeanor as a sports car.. DEFINITELY A MANUAL FOR ME! I don't think that ANY sports car should be an auto.. but folks have a preference.. Straight Shifting for me!

I'm leaning towards manual, but if you can get the automatic for the same cost as the manual (which gm is the only manufacturer that has done that as far as I can remember), who knows...btw, I wonder if they will still have that annoying skip-shift feature the last camaro's had?

6-speed, without a doubt, wouldn't have it any other way!

k, dumb question time.

So I assume that The automatics will have paddle shifters, but does that work with AFM? I read that a manual cant have AFM, so i was just curious.

Please tell me i can have both?

Paddle shifters will work with AFM (assuming that the reported reason for no AFM on the manual is true). Paddle shifters don't make it a manual transmission, they just give you a different user interface for whatever transmission you have -- in our case, the traditional torque converter equipped automatic transmission.

Manual for me unless they have a dual clutch transmisison available by summer 2010.

GM talk to Mitsubishi and see if you can license the SST from the Evo. I don't think BMW will sell you their 7 speed one that they use in the M3.

Manual all the way!

Haven't had one since my 84' Z-28, and I'm bored with automatics!

Try asking VW nicely, they might share.

Have only owned automatics up until now but plan on making the switch over to a manual. Drove my friend's manual Focus one time and pretty much had it figured out after about 5 minutes, the clutch didn't smell too bad. I feel like I need to get a beater for a month or so just to get into the habit of driving a manual though, don't really want to be too hard on a brand new car.

I don't know how to drive a manual, and as long as I live in L.A. I don't think I ever want to learn.
