Yeah I sent an oil sample to Blackstone first and it came back clear. So I felt a little better. But I still noticed the sound and wasn't satisfied with just clean oil. I ordered a turbo cam for my new setup. Should take better advantage of the TT than the old Nightfury cam. Hopefully it sounds lopey as I requested.

Lifters are cheap insurance for such a expensive cam...this coming from a guy who did 100$ bumpsticks for sbc/bbc with Edelbrock torque, airgap, intakes and Holley and Edelbrock carbs and usually stock springs lived fine on the lower lifts for hydraulic cams..being flat tappet though a good break in was necessary and I insist on doing it on my roller cams with BR30 and its doing good by me as I got lucky with the cam I got that was comp cam core and a lot do because of just mass of whats out there being comp.

The much higher stress from the springs of cams we use are more likely to cause damage to the cam lobes from tracking : but that does appear as just a bad section maybe did not harden right in the oven in china...or who knows a 8620 core is a no brainer and hopefully made in the USA.
