Unless he has a breather on the valve cover, then it would vent out there first. I ran 2 catch cans and a breather on the valve cover — I saw almost no oil until I removed the breather. Now, my dirty side and clean side capture more — I do have the Mighty Mouse with a breather too...

Before I removed the breather, I road raced a few times and noticed the valve cover breather would saturate with oil, but no oil in the cans (might mouse was pretty clean). Since I removed the valve cover breather, it’s catching oil in the cans...

Customer Service & the Elite E2X System

For the past several days I have been looking at a friend's Elite E2X Kit that he purchased new and never got to use it. Sent pictures, I emailed Steve at Elite Engineering with the E2X Kit part number being my friends was a 2016 Camaro and mine a 2014. Elite's site showing different part numbers. Steve emailed me back quickly saying he would like to sell me a E2X system but I should save my money because my friends will work perfectly, same mounts! So with shipping it will be just a tad over $200.00, was looking for the "clean air side", but for the price I will go for it.

Sent Steve another message as I want to have an extra set of O rings in stock, "just in case" and the one I purchased has two exit ports and I only need one, gotta see if he has a matching plug?

Now to figure out the best install.

Larry

Yesterday the elite Engenering E2-X "catch can & clean air side" kit arrived. The catch can was ordered with 2 exit ports, needing only one at this time I removed the extra fitting and capped one side off. Installed the catch can and it went very smooth and really looks great. The kit also comes with 2 one way valves for each port, one installed.

I have a stock engine but I have heard I could actually use the second exit port but really not sure where or how. Elite's directions are not the best when it comes to more than one port. If anyone want to chime in I am all ears.

I just finished reading and researching the clean air side which I feel comfortable in installing that now.

I will add a couple of pictures of the catch can install.

Pictures look great. The second outlet port of the Catch Can, goes to the intake coupler just upstream of the throttle body. This area has the most evacuation suction present during acceleration and WOT, the clean side unit (CSS) must connect to a barb that is closer to the MAF that the throttle body as the suction there is less than just in front of the throttle body. This is due to the dispersion from the main air filter. So, CSS to just downstream of the MAF a few inches, the can second outlet right in front (upstream) of the throttle body.

The reason is we must maintain clean filtered MAF metered fresh air entering the one bank of the crankcase (valve cover) and the foul contaminate laden vapors sucked out (evacuated) from the opposite valve cover. We don't mix the clean/fresh with the dirty/foul vapors. Even though standard thinking is the intake tube would be the same suction, it is not. The closer to the throttle body the stronger, the closer to the main air filter the least.

Steve, I thank you so much for the detailed reply, I am trying to understand what your saying but I must admit I am treading in new territory and learning as I go. For this some of your guidance has me stumped, mainly exactly where I should place the barb for the clean air side as well as where to place the 2nd clean side port from the catch can?

I have the "clean side separator" installed now but I don't believe I plumbed it where you are talking about?

Does anyone have ANY pictures of what Steve is talking about? If I see it I can do it! I am learning and thank you all for the education.

Larry
