Guys the more holes/vents/louvers we put in the hood the cooler it becomes.

Seriously those are some of the ugliest hoods I have ever seen......next to the one I posted, but those instanly reminded me of it. Those hoods would not be allowed in Metal Metal Land.
actually the ports are for heat extraction and function. if your not going to contribute to the thread in a positive way please stay out.

to me? heat extraction. ram air isnt really possible right now with the intakes that have hit the market, except the vararam. there arent any that draw air from outside into the motor or intake through the hood. heat extraction is also better on a blown car. via magnacharger especially since it has been known the get heat soak.

Thank you Capt Obvious.

Yet I would be willing to bet you still have both engine covers on.

Furthermore, a cowl induction hood allows hot air to escape at idle and sucks in cool air at speed while not looking as ricey or euro trashy as those other hoods.

Hows that for thread contribution. You just learned that a Cowl hood does the same two things as a hood with a bunch of holes in it plus it looks better.

Your welcome.

it comes down to hood design and personal preference. depends on where your intake is on the turbo and where the ports or scoops may be on the hood.

for me, going with a magna charger, something i want is vents toward the rear of the hood and maybe a slight cowl induction look.

so is this trashy and ricey?
yes i do still have my engine cover on. no need to take it off now. im not putting off enough heat that it makes it necessary to remove it now.

and its personal prefference as far as a cowl hood looking better than a vented hood.

Just to let you know, you guys did a fantastic job on your build. Now, I only wish I could see your car in one solid color to get a better idea of the lines, shapes, etc. The dual colors throw it all off for me.
