This is awesome. I just got my V1 in the mail yesterday, so this is really cool to see.

I'm curious, where do the sensors get installed?

For the less "busy" look two-way glass does the job nicely...

These are not "the V1", it is the remote display and control built in to the mirror. The OP has installed the actual V1 elsewhere for an integrated look so you need to realize that it is easy to mount a remote display, the fabrication to install the V1 somewhere else can be more involved.

This is remarkable. I will almost certainly be doing this after seeing the results.

I give you an "A" for effort but re-read the OP:

Mirror is not etched or sand blasted SEE DETAIL PHOTO of the CLARITY. Very tedious to perform at this level of quality.

Lots of soldering and mods to make this work but I can duplicate the job for anyone who needs another perk for their ride!

Here is what I did.

Removed the Overhead Console and DELTED the Passenger Airbag light switch. No fault codes come up by removing this.

I modifed the housing to install the potentiometer control and terminals and made a plastic lens to fill the hole. Polished it smooth and its perfectly centered, this took ALOT of TIME. The modified speaker is installed on the other side of the overhead trim in its seperate location. Looks factory aesthetically.

Rear view mirror you will loose auto dim just to let everyone know due to the glass used by GM. We can do the auto dim version or LT flip version up to you. We can even supply one in exchange we have cores in stock as of today. If you demand auto dim the price $$$$ because I need to use a donor mirror for parts from a European car. Auto Dim shouldnt be a huge deal on this car since most have tints and the design of the rear windo is so tappered as it is.

Valentine One main brain was taken apart, modified and installed in the rear headliner. Tested 100% signal so were good to go.

Also have an option with a hand made cover for the middle of the rear parcel shelf which can be covered in leather or for the extra fancy guys you can have it done in Carbon fiber but your Carbon source.

If anyone has interest send me a PM. I prefer to have manufactures/dealers contact me to add this to their product offering. Just easier on our end. If Moderators suggest I sponsor for such an offering send me a PM and I guess I can sell direct.

More photos to come in the next day or two showing illumination and possibly a video if I can get one of the guys to come along for a ride.
Also take a look at the photos. The potentiometer he talks about is the volume control for the radar detector, which is not part of the "Concealed Display" unit available for purchase through the Valentine 1 store. Same with the "modified speaker" he refers to also.

Given those things, my understanding is that he took the radar detector apart to conceal the components in the vehicle better.

I still want to know where the radar sensors were placed on/in the car

I think it'll be the remote audio adaptor from Valentine, that's a lot easier to mod than removing it from the V1 although the soldering is a PITA.

So... the V1 is in the headliner, the remote audio is in the console and the concealed display is in the mirror... none of this is simple howoever the real complexity comes in if you try and separate the front and rear detectors as valentine specifically recommend not to do this. I assume the detector is in the headliner somewhere but with the front and rear sensors still mounted with the rest of the unit.

Hi guys thanks for the compliments and interest. Attached are two quick videos I just made before work this morning.

Just so you can get an idea of the illumination on and off. Excuse the damn door chime I need to rip that thing out one of these days.

Wow, almost $2300.00 for a radar detector! You can pay a lot of tickets and attorney fees for that much.
