I will order the RS package, not sure about interior packages though, probably keep it to the necessities. Any news about HUD, I have heard yes here and no there, but any definite word on it??

No HUD till December 09 per other posts here.....Also will have backup assist available then

If you just want the headlights.... whats to stop you from getting the base... then going back to the dealer and asking to buy some OEM Halo HIDs just as if you had wrecked your car.... they have to make some spare parts. I wouldnt think the wireing would be different between the lights (although there has to be a magical button for the halo lights only)

those lights will most likely cost close to a grand if you buy at the dealers parts counter and no telling is the wire harness are the same or if the computer will work with it. ican do without them ..

I want leather, the ambient lighting isn't a bonus to me. If its muted or mutable it will be ok.

My '03 has leather and it still looks great. I really haven't even wiped it down with leather claener as often as I should. Hell my carpet has a tear because my left foot still thinks it has a clutch but the leather is solid.

I hope the RS pack is cheaper on the SS, Since the SS has a spoiler and 20s already.

I would like to see a bit more a'la carte but its pretty much normal. At least GM say Poof here's an option pack. Go spec a Ford. Choose and option and wonder why the price jumped so much. Oh. wiat its the 2 other things that go clicked on because its a stealth option group.

$39,320 to be exact.. but I think dodge srt8 cars are over priced to begin with...

I was just using the srt8 as an example to show that the top model came with standard options and a buyer did not have to buy a package in order to get them. this is before I realized the SS came with 20inch rims and other options stock.

I tried ordering an a-la-carte Camaro back in 1984. I thought i could get what i wanted and be happy until my order came within a few hundred dollars of a full blown Z28. Just got the Z28 and lived with the things I thought I didn't need. Package ordering is kind of like buying in bulk, I guess.

This is too much in too little time for people to digest. I think if people can just wait, be patient. There will be more answers. I do think there will be tons more options with the new camaro.

But what about those people who want HIDS but not the spoiler or 20 inch rims or want the lighting but not the leather. Why not offer the buyer the option to get what they want without buying needless crap.

I don't want oem 20inch rims because I plan on getting 3 piece forged wheels. I don't want leather because it gets real hot in the sun and it does not hold up to abuse like cloth. now I'm stuck paying x amount of money for stuff I don't want.

I know many will say get aftermarket hids/projectors. but honestly have you guys used aftermarket projectors? they suck and I really did not want to buy a new car just so I can retro fit appearance parts unto it.

Anyone else agree..

I posted this on another thread, but probably shouldve posted it here....my thoughts exactly Saint....

1) the HUD is not available until 12/2009. This one makes absolutely ZERO sense to me...this is not new technology.

2) I am a little disappointed that you have to purchase SS/RS for lighting, but hey...who knows maybe it wont be as expensive as we are worried for....

3) The ambient lighting is apparently offered on the LEATHER package only. This is a little disappointing as I planned for cloth and live in Florida with the heat.

Now don't get me wrong, I assumed you would pay a tad extra for a cool feature or two...but I see Saints argument...now we are buying an EXTERIOR and INTERIOR upgrade for features that really arent all that much to ask? We are shown this ignition video, and now I come to find THAT interior, spoiler, lights will only be available if you purchase an upgrade and leather? oh and some of the options arent available until December of 2009?!

As a whole, yes...this IS a beautiful car...I think you guys did a FANTASTIC JOB. However, this is my dream car, I would like small toys like halos/HID/HUD, and I really dont wish to wait another 16 months to get a some small feature that has already been in circulation for quite some time.

Saint, I completely understand where you are coming from and agree. There are certain things that i want, but others I do not. They SHOULD let the person pick and choose what they want....let them customize it even more. If GM thinks they aren't going to sell a lot of leather seats and you have to get the seats to get lighting, then someone needs to make their seats better or more appealing. Don't count on making someone spend hundreds just to get something else. Not cool.
