WE HAVE A WINNER!

I said this was Camaro related. There is 2 connections to the Camaro. The first is that the Chevy Corvair, which was what these giant hot-dogs on wheels ran for engines for a few years, was effectively replaced by the Camaro (or more correctly the end was in sight for the Corvair and in 1968 the scheduled launch of the Camaro basically finished off the Corvair. When at the concept stage the Camaro (code name Panther) took several styling cues from the Corvair. The details on this part are a bit sketchy but I believe for the years the Ultra Van was Corvair powered I believe it was at least partially assembled in what is now GM Oshawa. I say sketchy b/c you'll find limited details on-line, some of which are conflicting, and then talk to the Corvair club guys and they say some of the on-line info is wrong. Anyway, doesn't matter. Point is, this weird looking thing is, in a very distant, sick kinda way, at least partly related to our beloved Camaros.

The other reason it is relevant is b/c of the owner of this particular one (I'm not sure what number it is - there was only 300 or so made). Christcringle - I know you've met this individual. Care to take a guess?

christcringle - do you want your prize? You already have these items... up to you

You can have it - but you have to come to Oshawa for next year's rally to get it
