As it has already been stated, wherever it will be held, there will be those that complain. You can not please every individual. If it's on the East coast like this upcoming one, then people on the west coast won't be happy, and vice versa.

You guys and girls can organize your own event on the west coast if it would make you happy. You just can not call it a C5F meet. You would just have to keep away the site name.

I think Colorado is a great location. It is in the middle of the U.S. Of course the cars will run slower...due to the elevation...but that's not a big deal. I really don't don't think anywhere on the coast of the west coast would make a good place to do it. I think it needs to be pulled out to the middle of the country for the next one.

That's my thought on the matter..

So what your saying is there is a an exclusive east cost group that that can use the Camaro5 Fest handle and the rest of us can take a hike. Although I have only have been a member since 09 I have watched this site since 07. I don't have to tell you what I think of some of your comments.

If it is an official Camaro 5 Fest for ALL members, it should of been heen held in the middle of the country to start off with. That I agree with you.

If your looking for a good track the Strip @ Vegas is probably one of the best drag strips on the planet. 2500' elevation The Strip just hosted the Fastest 32 car Pro Street feild in history, no doubt about that track.

Awesome idea to start planning a second or third event in 2009-2010 for others that are just to far from Valdosta, GA. If ANYONE needs assistance with logistical man-power or 'idea creativity' just let me know.

As far as "the middle of the US" goes, I will throw in, umm oh I dunno - Kansas? Not quite sure when Denver was ever considered the middle - but heh its all good.

Kansas City, Kansas
Kansas City Speedway - September 2009 looks open?

18 miles across Kansas City is the Drag Strip

Over 20 Hotels within 10 miles of this place.

Topeka, Kansas
Now if you just want a Drag Strip and an Auto-X, then Heartland Park is the place!!! And Topeka has plenty of Hotels to choose from. And as listed above, Topeka is on I-70E/W and I-35N/S too, so very easy to get to.

Logistically, this might be the easiest 'State' destination for almost everyone - but as already stated, you can't please everyone - just tryin to help.

Again, if you need any ideas, just PM me and I'll see what I can do to help.

Sorry buddy! I was not sure where the middle of the country was. However I knew it was not in Georgia. I could make to Kansas too.

Guys, I am not saying that there will be a second event in 2010. We are definitely open to "considering" a new location in 2011. But we do not need to "bash" or make snide remarks about the current Fest in this or other threads.

First off, you take things out of context. You done that a few times, and you have also assumed things when replying. You west coast people are complaining, that this event is based on the east coast. Like it has been stated before, this was originally a southeast meet that has grown into a C5F meet. It was originally based for the southeast, and the location was planned to be held in the southeast.

So I suggested that you west coast members hold your own meet if you wanted to, and that you probably wouldn't be able to use the site name for legal purposes. At least this way, you west coast members could do your own meet and greets, without permission. That and so others wouldn't have to hear the complaining.

I also don't know why you threw out how long you have been browsing the forums, and how long you have been a member of them. That does not mean a thing. I have been browsing these forums ever since they had less than 500 members. I also don't care what you think about my opinions. My suggestions are meant to help out, so you can take them how you want to.

I do think that Colorado is a good place. Won't really go into anymore than that though.

See now there's some thinkin! (wife is a teacher, she would love this concept) ...and to insure a smooth summer bash, we have to move it north a bit to compensate for the HOT-@$$ midwest temps.

So maybe something @1700ft in Pierre, SD - Oahe Speedway - NHRA 1320 (down side, I couldn't find an Auto-X nearby. But for your Outlaws, they're everywhere!!!)

Either way I am sure we can turn up the heat in 2011. Even in Kansas, the last week in June isn't to hot - 90's.

Never mind. After looking on a map, Kansas would pretty much be the perfect spot. It is actually in the dead center of the U.S. I looked up a few drag strips, and they have Heartland Park Topeka, SRCA drag strip, and Kansas International Dragway. All three which have been used for NHRA. So that should say something. Mean's that they are quality tracks.

I am also aware of the whole camaro girl pictures, and the small donation for charity. Well, I believe that their is a perfect way to do something like that again at an event. I am sure you all remember the F5 tornado that hit Greensburg, Kansas a few years back. Destroyed everything. Well, that small city is rebuilding, they are rebuilding their area to be environment friendly. This small area, lost quite a few residents. Quite a few of them over controversy of the whole rebuilding process. To my understanding, they are still rebuilding, and are far from finished. Why not donate money to a cause like that? Who knows, it may touch them enough, that they may get the news involved, and them boom, this forum is being recognized for doing something great.

I really don't think this event needs to be an exact replica of the 10' event. I would like to see some other events included. Maybe a contest for the best burn out...I actually have a lot of ideas..

I would even like to see a friendly GT500 vs SS meet...but did not draw any interest.
