Whatever you decide to do, it's only right that the father helps pay for it

Are you and your Father still speaking?? I can feel your pain. I was driving a car w/o insurance once had an accident, w/my Father's name on the title. We both walked for three years. State pulled our operator's permits. If it were me, I'd sell it. Don't want to drive a wrecked car.

Collision repair facilities Accident indicators, including:
• Structural/frame damage
• Collision repair history
That requires shops to participate. Some do depending on the area, but as of now most don't. However dealerships do.

Yes. we're speaking.. He's my father you know? and we were sharing it.. He also dinged up my harley this past summer, but I got over that too.. I have another question, maybe this part would be better asked in a different part of the forum? For some reason, the driver side window went down after the impact, which he climbed out of, but now it won't go back up. Acts as though it's hitting something, and at the same time, the passenger door window no longer operates properly either. When you open the doors, they crack down maybe quarter of an inch, that no longer does it on this car. I'm wondering if a relay of some sort may have gotten murdered? Anybody got any input?

I would never actually suggest you do something like this but I do know a person that went thru a similar situation. He called his insurance company and added the car back to his policy and didnt tell them about the accident (no police report was filed). Then a couple of weeks later he reported it to them as if it had just happened. He took a big risk but the insurance company paid to have the car repaired. My vote is for option 3. Think of all the things you wanted to do to this car but it was too new. Now you have your chance.

park it, get insurance, file a claim 2 weeks after getting insurance.

Insurance comp will not need to look at the car to give you insurance.

I saw the question asked but I did not see the answer (I may have missed it skimming through): Does your Dad not have car insurance for any vehicles he owns? I have USAA and they will cover me while I am in a vehicle I do not own, like rental cars.

If not an option, you may want to consider what D1BADZ said above. If you have an ethical conscience then my vote is option 3. Rebuild that sucker even better than it was, then insure it.

Actually insurance companies photo inspect cars for this reason, however since he just took coverage off they may let it slide.

That said if someone discovers what he did he will be looking at a prison term. And you would be surprised how easy it is for them to catch you.

So in the end the suggestion of insurance fraud is not only stupid its irresponsible.

This whole thing sounds so shady, on many levels.

The questions is basically, since someone drove the car illegally and crashed, what do I do now to get away with fraud?

I hope I'm off base but I do watch a lot of Jude Judy!
