Anyone know where I can find a pulley to boost chart for the heartbeat kit? Wanting to move down a pulley size on this build, but not sure what pulley I even need looking through the Magnuson site.

Thanks!

Update, got it all figured out! Maguson support was very helpful.

Went down a pulley and all is well!

Getting ready to do a Whipple kit install on another 5th Gen A6 car, it will be interesting to see the difference!

I did a little write up on when i did my whipple. Don't expect the directions to be correct with the intercooler hoses. They updated the reservoir and didn't change the hoses they supply, at least in my kit. I had to make a couple of my own hoses, and flip the bracket on the circulator pump. Also, you use both the rubber, and paper gaskets on the intake to head, even though the directions are really screwy at that part.

Thanks Green! Couple questions as I finalize this order.

What size pulley does the kit come with?

Is the tune supplied locked in any way from reading it with say HP Tuners?

whipple kit comes with 4" pulley. I don't know about the tune, I didn't get the complete kit I got the tuner kit as I had my own injectors and customer tune done.

Gotcha, thank you for the info!

So does anyone have any recommendations on what drivetrain upgrades would be a good idea on these cars? The car currently has a set of race stars and ET Street SS tires in the 305 width, which full bolt-on N/A hasn't presented an issue with the OEM driveshaft/CV shafts, however with the Whipple addition, I fear that may change.

The car is an automatic as well.

Looking at D/S and CV options if necessary, but if they OEM pieces are stout enough that would be great as well.

All depends on how hard you're leaving. Launching the car stalled up with sticky tires has a bad habit of killing axles. If the car has been lowered, the likelihood of breaking an axle goes up quite a bit.

Subframe bushings, diff bushings, and trailing arms will take almost all wheel hop out of the equation and have you launching as hard as your axles will allow.

Thank you.

This car is entirely stock less the drag wheels and tires for race night, as far as driveline goes. Full bolt-on/tune are the current mods.

I was thinking perhaps going up a pulley size from the supplied one to keep it safe/more tame on the drivetrain. Car doesn't have to perform like a rock star, just have a little kick from where it is now.

Super excited to get a Whipple build under way on this one.

Green, I looked through your started threads and couldn't find one detailing the install, I would greatly appreciate a link on that!

I did not do a step by step guide, the installation guide that comes with the kit is pretty good. I just outlined a few things to watch out for and some areas where the directions were lacking.
I would get trailing arms and toe links asap might prevent wheel hop. If not you'll also need cradle bushings, i just did cradle bushing inserts they were easier. Also think about doing an lpw diff cover, keeps the caps from stretching, i think i have a thread about that too. If you avoid wheel hop your stock DS and axles should be ok. A cheap upgrade for axles are 1Le axles. I talked to Ted quite a bit about ds and axles and he usually runs stock, 1000whp guys are running on stock, less balance and vibration issues. You're an auto which doesn't abuse the driveline as much as an m6. I'd leave the DS and axles alone unless you have an issue. Wheel hop is the #1 killer, avoid it at all costs.

Thank you sir!

Getting ready to place the Whipple kit order, wonder if any vendors are doing a 'stimulus' sale on this thing .

Received the kit today.

Question. Whipple's website says the 2014 Camaro kit should come with a ZL1 fuel pump, my kit came with an MSD voltage booster. I have an e-mail into the selling dealer as well. I would much rather install the pump vs using a booster....just less to go wrong.
