When I did all my research into cars including several makes and models and in all price ranges, I just kept coming back to the Camaro. To me the aggressive look of the Camaro won out over all the other cars. This car is just a blast to drive, comes nicely equipped and is the best bang for the dollars on the planet. There are lots better handling and powerful cars out there, but the Camaro has "the look" and enough driveability to make it a winner.

If the CTS-V is an option, I'd say go for it unless you absolutely love the looks of the Camaro and don't really care for those of the Caddy.

How much will you be using the backseats?
If you have to buckle/unbuckle car seats daily, then the sedan will be more practical.

You could always wait for the Z28 to come out and get the best of both worlds.

Would use the back seat sparingly (so to speak). Would like to pick up a new ride this spring as I'm taking it on a cross country road trip to my next station on the east coast in July. Looking like the SS will certainly be the more reasonable performance car choice considering the bang for the buck. Just means shipping more of my gear vs packing it in the back seat and trunk. Of course, if I really wanted the cargo room I should go with the '09 TBSS. But I think I'm over the TB infatuation since driving the Camaro.

the CTS-V its everything you would want out of a sedan- super fast and luxury interior..... but if you looking for a coupe .. i think the ss will not disappoint you in any way.....hottest looks , and good power under the hood i just wish it would handle like the "V" ... but that's a easy fix,,,

I wouldn't make any choice like this w/o driving both cars. The CTS-V does everything the SS can do but a bit better and as a sedan it's more user friendly. But you get what you pay for and the Caddy isn't cheap in regards to the SS.

Subjective looks aside as both are attractive in their own way. You obviously agree or it wouldn't be debating between these cars.

Really the only reason not to go CTS-V is cost.

Coupe

I can understand Waco's position on waiting. I am in the same boat. I wanted a new Camaro, but after seeing the teaser pics and reading about the CTS Coupe, I will wait. I hear they will be out by May, look like pure sex on 4 wheels. I think they look a lot better than any other coupe on the market including Jag, Mercedes, Beemer......

I would be looking for an LLT/6M version, Have the vette for GOOOOO.

I own both cars being compared. '10 SS and an '09 V. If you can afford the V, go for it. While I dig the looks of my Camaro, everything about the V is better to me. Except the fuel economy . Camaro averages about 20 mpg, V averages about 16.8 mpg.

The V drives better, is more comfortable, has a MUCH nicer interior and fit/finish, less road noise, better visibility, better brakes, better handling, much quicker, etc... But it does cost more. Luckily, you can find new '09 V's for about $10-11K off MSRP now, if you hurry. And, with 0%/72 months financing, it makes them more affordable than ever.

As for modding, the V still wins here. A simple crankshaft pulley and tune will make the V into a mid-11 second car. Takes quite a bit more to get the Camaro into the mid-11s.

Someone else mentioned the Audi S5. Excellent cars too, my wife drives a '10 S5 convertible. AWD with a supercharged V6. Interior is top-notch, the cars are built really well. It cost more than my V did, I like the Caddy better.
