I ordered a white car so an RS was mandatory for me due to having the ditch molding match the body color. It would have litteraly bugged the crap out of me to have a white car with the black molding. Would I like to save $1,200.00? You bet! but I have to see it in the garage every day and I need to do what makes me not regret my final choice.

Nope, the transmission has nothing to do with it. It depends on the speed ratings on the tires from the factory.

You will find the choice and AVAILABILITY of 19" tires to fit this car will be very limited. And they will cost more than the bigger choice you have in 20 inch.

That was ONE reason I stopped looking at any LT without RS.

I also think that the extra paid for the RS Package was well worth the expense. I have a 2LT and would not have bought the car without the RS Upgrades.

Ive said it before, i'll say it again. V6 RS package is a must (HIDs, Spoiler, Tail lights, Wheels, Roof Ditch Molding, Badging). V8 RS package not so much. SS already receives the 20" wheels, the spoiler, so your paying $1200 for HIDs, Tail Lights, badging, and the roof ditch molding. Others point out the HIDs cost that much alone, but I still think its a bit of a rip off. For $500 more the V6 RS Package gets a Spoiler & the 20" wheels.

I wouldn't buy a V6 without the RS Package. But if I ordered a SS, I probably would have left the RS package off.

unless your buying the car outright what is the real hang-up on the cost of the rs?You cant say you want the money for mods since your making payments on the car already, the cost of the rs package is in your monthly payment and really what does the total add too,2-3 more payments total? So lets re-cap,if you buy the car outright you could make a case for saving the additional cost for mods, but if your making payments and choose to not get the rs package for the sole reason of saving money you may be a moron and may want to re-think this whole car thing anyway.my two cents

EXACTLY my way of thinking too. And personally, I like the look of the standard headlights better than the halos.

The RS sounds really cool after the 2SS. Cool man, it's a 2SS RS.

one word

RESALE If you get the RS you bump your resale when the time comes, I have bought cars with the basics and at trade you get crap. Even my mini van has all the goodies for later as well as the comforts. Besides if your buying a car 1200 really isn't that much money.

I don't know how those headlights could need any explanation...
